Merry early Xmas! This is definitely the time for feasting and meeting friends during this festive period. It’s also the time when everyone keeps falling sick, just like me last week, and now the mister who is down with COVID in this particular wave.

Here’s brekkie and a light lunch + plenty of fruits during my office hours.

And off I go for a post birthday / early Xmas dinner with Rachel later on at The Sushi Bar over at Dhoby Ghaut. Tbh, we’ve been looking for a Japanese place that will replace the one we used to patronise years ago before it closed down and this seems to be a pretty good replacement imo.

Today also marks my 3rd visit here, in a span of less than 6 months (lol!), for my birthday celebration, my farewell and now, for Rachel’s birthday celebration!

This round, since I’m with different friends, I was able to order ala carte dishes to enjoy. She ordered her favourite salmon don while I indulged in a bowl of kaisendon. A lil expensive compared to my usual, however a once a while treat is ok la.

We also shared a chicken gyoza which was pretty yummy and sat here for quite abit chatting till 9-ish. The total bill came up to around $67 for 2 pax; like I said, a once in awhile treat is ok so ok la. I enjoyed my Kaisen don as well as they were pretty generous with the ingredients and they were quite thick cut pieces!

To end off the night, we decided to go for some hot chinese dessert which was a great choice becos we were the last customers so we got the dessert on a buy one free one offer (U.P $2.40 each), alongside a WHOLE bowl of youtiao. Hilarious cos there was no way we could finish that, but thankful cos yay free stuff so why not. We had a great night overall chatting and catching up, hopefully we’ll get to do it one more time prior to my wedding next year.
