Time really flies and my 3 day side stint ended on this day! I’m sure quite a few people are curious to what I’ve chosen to take up during this period of time and where I’ve been working on my birthday (wahahaha)! Don’t worry – I’m here to “bare it all”! 😂
So mainly, I’ve been working at Muyoo+ (the 1st bakery + novelty drink concept in Singapore) as the host and somewhat PR for their media launch over the 3 days (27/28/29 Aug) prior to their official opening this coming Saturday, 1 September 2018 at Bedok Mall!

I have two people to thank for this opportunity (Tf + K) and more importantly – for believing that I have the ability to do such a thing considering that I have no experience. Thank you guys, you know who you are! 🙆
Doing this also gave me the opportunity to have a small taste of PR life / a behind the scenes opportunity to see what goes on behind an event/shop launch (the preparations leading up to it and strategic direction) / insight of some of the work of a social media manager for a company and it has been a really interesting and eye opening experience to have played a small role on the whole! Not to say that I was involved in every step along the way la, but my main part is mainly the hosting component of the media during the media preview/launch!

It’s also an experience being in the shoes of the host/PR person vs being the hosted media for once in my life so you kinda get a small perspective from the other side walking in their shoes!(:

Indeed, I’m really glad I decided to take this stint up during this adult gap year period – it’s all about the experience foremost! And yes, of course we were paid for this job of course so yayyyy for some income as well during this adult gap year period~ (:
Having said that – I can’t believe how much FUN I had during the last 3 days and it didn’t even feel like work at all! Granted, it’s super tiring at the end of the day but wow does time fly when you’re having a spot of fun!(:
Lol, but just sharing, if you asked me at the start on the first day.. I would have told you how petrified I was doing this. I was scared shitless and afraid that I would screw it up tbh. Had to give myself a zillion prep talks too 😭

Luckily once you get through Day 1, especially the first session – the rest of the days just flows so it got easier progressively. Plus you just have to be flexible and adapt accordingly because sometimes not everything goes along to plan so you just try your best to make it work!
Usually we have two sessions on Day 1 and Day 2 respectively and on this day, the very last day – we had 3 sessions to run instead so my day started off earlier than usual with my mom’s home cooked lunch and my usual preps plus “ammo” aka earrings to boost my confidence doing this, a different one each day!

Also just sharing my outfits for the last 3 days as a recap. Wahahha and of cos I chose them specifically to match the brand’s concept while for Day 2, it was a little special cos it was my birthday hehe.
Day 1 – Floral off shoulder top courtesy of Lauren and Evan paired with my trusty H&M skirt

Day 2 – A Lovet floral playsuit as my birthday suit (literally, not figuratively lol)

Day 3 – recycled my H&M skirt (yes, its washed!) paired with a floral off shoulder top from ezbuy (sign up for $5 vouchers!)

I recall looking at the finalized guest list with my co-host, Cindy (@cindi0601) and we were pointing out the names/handles of whom we knew personally. Hahaha it was then I decided not to reveal anything about my job because I wanted to surprise my friends.
It’s quite funny sometimes because they thought I was attending the event but I was the host instead and a couple didn’t believe me. Oh, it gets me tickled when that happens HAHAHHA. Of cos some already knew beforehand cos word does get around but it doesn’t really matter la actually hahaha 😂
Most of our sessions felt like a one on one catch up sessions with friends or a party gathering where all of us just enjoyed the time trying the food and drinks, snapping photos, chatting and getting to know each other and/or the brand better!

Considering that we have had experience being the hosted ourselves so we just had to apply it from the other side to make everyone as happy as much as we can to the best of our abilities!

Special shout out to those who were extra sporting esp for volunteering to tear the dirty buns (脏脏包) and getting messy hahahah! But on a serious note – everyone who came were awesome la and it was my / a pleasure hosting every single one of them! 🙆😊
Note: the invited media that we hosted were all influencers/bloggers instead of mainstream publications/official media.

The staff of the shop were also really helpful and played a huge part in the making the event run smoothly – kudos to their non stop slicing/baking/prepping of drinks and many more! It’s all a team effort la.

Also, during this period, I / we (Cindy, Tf and I) were the hand models / whatever models for the brand/everyone. 😂

So much laughter and smiles all around hahaha! Sometimes it feels more like we were the all-in-one event host/PR/brand ambassadors for the brand hahaha – say hello to the Muyoo+ girls! ;p

Not bad tho, some people actually wanted photos OF me or WITH me instead of my hand HAHAHAHA. 😂😂😂 #bueypaisay

Oh ya – all I can say is that we really ate A LOT of the bread and consumed A LOT of the drinks during the 3 days. It was dinner for Cindy and I for all the days (and even breakfast cos we got to dabao leftovers) hahaha!
There are the fruit series!

Then we have the savory series and the dirty buns of cos!

And oh my God, so many drinks! It was my first time drinking fruit tea in my entire life and it’s from Muyoo+ actually hahaha. Think I consumed over 5-6 drinks during the span of 3 days and that’s a huge thing because most poeple know me as the boring water drinker haha.

And yes, they were all good; and I’m not just saying just becos I’m the host and such. Try it for yourself when Muyoo+ (bakery + novelty drink concept) opens officially at their Bedok Mall outlet on 1 September 2018, Saturday! They also have the drinks only at the Muyoo outlet at Raffles City fyi!
You know, when the last day ended – it was like we were loath to leave. This 3 day stint really flew and I really enjoyed working alongside with everyone, especially with my co-host Cindy and of cos Tf! So much love for all (Cindy 😭😭😭😭😭) and we just had to take selfies together to remember this moment!(: ♥️♥️♥️♥️🙆🙆🙆🙆

And with that, it ended for the day.
I finally dabao-ed some of the leftover bread home to let my mom try and also try some of the bread that I didn’t get to try (cos media > us) and we got some souvenirs aka the media gift/the Muyoo paper bag and that infamous Muyoo “condom” packaging (stay safe guys) HAHAHHAHA 😂

My biggest reward? Gorging on the ENTIRE piece of the Crabby bread all by myself LOL. This was everyone’s favorite by far and mine as well but I never really got to dabao or eat a whole piece cos this was a hot fave and it’s REALLY very nice. Was too shag to run/walk that night so this really made my day in the end! Uh huh definitely a happy, HAPPY crabby way to end off this day~ 😂🦀

Indeed, it has been a wonderful experience to take this up during my adult gap year but it’s back to reality and my usual day to day life again~ Too happening very tiring you know? Hahaha looking forward to my hermit at home days this weekend!! But first, night owl work and surfing till the wee morning as always! (Yes I know, bad for health!!)🦉🙈
Last but not least, thanks for reading and TGIF!!(:
