I’ve always seen the helper pushing the 2 kids in the stroller in the mornings when I take my usual route to the MRT for work. Not all the time but quite frequently. Despite that, it was only until recently that I had my first interaction with them!
What happened was that one morning, the helper faced some issues when the baby stroller got stuck for abit at the start near the poles and I offered my assistance. But it was all good though as she got it unstuck after abit! Was given thanks and I was pleased to have been able to at least offer my help nonetheless.
Their helper was in a rush and overtook me but what made my day was while walking past me, she asked the 2 kids in the stroller to wish me good morning auntie!
The older kid gave me a big grin and cheery wave as he greeted me with a “GOOD MORNING AUNTIE!” Hahaha, I used to be really sensitive about being called an auntie but not anymore. I’ve acknowledged I’m getting older and yes.. Im definitely an auntie to these kids, not a jiejie lol!
Still grinning that infectious smile, he waved back at me and said “We are rushing to school now!” Grinning back wih a big fat smile – I told him to have fun in school; and judging from that smile, I KNEW he was definitely going to have fun!
Watched them rush off for school happily and it made me happy from within. However, what really made my day as mentioned earlier was this small but positive interaction that morning. MY day got off to a great start! 😊
Also sharing this story with you all as an example to where you can find positivity and happiness even in the smallest things!
This also serves as a reminder and an answer to myself to the question that I always ask myself – what happened today/recently that was good and made me smile?
Another thing that I realized. Because of this 1 small interaction, we are probably going to be greeting each other in the mornings thereafter if we do see each other again. I’m looking forward! 😊
