Publishing this on the first day of CNY seems right. Technically a new start in the Chinese calendar – auspicious hor? I even chose to publish this at 12.08am LOL, wut. I think sometimes I can be abit superstitious. SOMETIMES!
Anyway, 2018 so far has been a huge huge year of change for me ever since I decided to embark on a journey of self love, self discovery and more since last year in 2017. You always need to evolve and keep changing with the times to keep up and well, basically have the belief that change is the only constant.
I have been toying around with a new direction for my blog and my socials for quite awhile now and so far, I have been liking what I see on my socials especially on Instagram when I chose to open my world more. Now for my blog.. it’s still a bit messy because I can’t seem to get a clear direction for where I want my blog to go especially in terms of blog topics because I enjoy writing on so many.
I know many people struggle with writing but it just comes naturally to me and this is why I never have issues creating content for my blog or even my socials on a daily basis. In fact, if I could say I have a problem .. it would be HAVING TOO MUCH CONTENT. Yeah..ikr? Like what is wrong with you Daph?! Do a quick search on Google and most people say that having too much content is bad because this means you should start limiting yourself. With that I shake my head and say – okay, let’s do it my way. Let’s try.
Lol, for me, I just feel that there is a story that can be crafted with every single experience and I really, really enjoy creating my everyday stories using visuals, videos and writing to document them for memories sake and to share my experiences and life in general. I have been doing quite a bit of experimenting with many channels including Dayre, YouTube and more but ultimately, I find my blog and IG (maybe abit Facebook and Youtube) my favourite outlets to express myself best.
I guess more importantly, I shouldn’t spread myself so thinly as well to post on so many multiple platforms (thanks K for the advice/reminder in this case) JUST so that I can spread my content. So I should really just limit myself to these MAIN channels that I feel more comfortable with – my blog (mitsueki.sg) and my IG (@mitsueki)! I do quite alot of cross promotion so all these posts on my blog/IG are automatically syndicated to my personal and official blog Facebook/LinkedIn/Tumblr/Twitter accounts as well thus saving me trouble to republish them. Wahaha, I’m everywhere – annoying right? rolls eyes
Well, you don’t have to read it if you are not interested! If you are, that’s awesome. I know I’m not everyone’s cup of tea but that’s okay! 🙂
So for my blog, I guess the way to go now will be sharing more about my personal day to day life and thought posts ALONG with my usual posts on food, lifestyle, fashion, shopping, random news and more. I have Dayre to thank for this as I find it really fun to document down my life – for memory purposes to look back and reflect how far I have grown. As mentioned earlier, documenting my life has always been the case for me except I only did it for my travelogues on this blog and posted photos on Facebook. But writing to express myself is still my favourite way for now(:
After all, this technically is a PERSONAL BLOG (it’s called Mitsueki’s Blog right? LOL).. okay, maybe a HYBRID DAILY PERSONAL BLOG-MAGAZINE-PUBLICATION (????) hahahaha! I don’t even know how to define this blog anymore as it has evolved beyond that in my 6 years of blogging. This change in direction, it feel right to me .. so I’m going to do it. This is always kinda been my style anyway – posting unedited photos and spamming them like crazy haha. Except this time, will be sharing more about my life and me instead on BOTH my blog and Instagram!
I guess to me – here’s one of my beliefs: What’s the point of snapping photos and taking videos if you don’t document or share them somewhere for your reference to look back at them in the future? If you keep them in an SD card or just transfer them to the computer/external hard disk.. will you actually look back at them next time? I don’t think so, because I don’t lol.
No matter what, I will keep experimenting and LET’S SEE HOW IT GOES! 🙂

However, not to worry – this will STILL be a daily blog regardless but perhaps instead of 1 post a day, it could be MORE than that. LOL I told ya, too much content! Eh, this is good news you know?! Because this means you should check back everyday for my updates HAHAHA! This blog’s purpose has always been around to bring your daily articles for YOUR reading pleasure (and mine also la, cos I read my own posts to entertain myself sometimes, lololol) 😀

You know, many of my posts are written on the spot or something but due to limiting myself to publishing one to two posts a day.. posts written MONTHS ago are published only like NOW or something. Like my old Europe travelogue? That was in freaking 2015 and I only finished publishing them in 2018 even though I finished writing the travelogue series in 2017. Like wut. -_-
Regardless, I shall not limit myself anymore and just do what I like. This is after all, my own space (which I am paying for btw) and this means that I have the creative freedom to do what I like!

Heh, moreover.. I made a life changing decision recently as well. One of my biggest decisions of my life – hell, I don’t even know if that was the right move but I already set my plans in motion. Will share more about it soon~ #projectmitsueki
