Preparations for CNY 2015

It’s been a busy month ever since I got back from our trip 🙁 And time sure flies, was is only just New Year a few weeks ago?!

Anyway, how have your preparations for the upcoming CNY (Chinese New Year) been for you? If you’re still looking for last minute ideas for CNY, I’ve got some to share with you!(:

Huiji Gift Set

Giving gifts to your parents / parents-in-law / bf or gf parents can be such a headache especially during CNY and if you’ve been running out of ideas to give them, how about considering to purchase a Huiji Gift Set?

Priced at an affordable $73, the particular Huiji Gift Set that I received (Gift of Thoughts) comes in a huge premium looking red box that oozes class and the contents are nothing to scoff at either!

Inside the box are a few items including a big bottle of Huiji Waist Tonic (700ml), a jar of Huiji Honey (500g) and 2 boxes of Huiji Fruity Lite (6 sachets each).

Most of these items are really beneficial for health (great choice for the elderly!) especially their Waist Tonic – touted to be able to strengthen the body and waist, relieve aches in the waist and knees and many more benefits and I know that it is something that my mom would appreciate(:

P.s you can also use the waist tonic / honey to cook food with!

Check out what my friend, @ig_honeybeesweets did with her Huiji Waist Tonic using the following recipe:

Herbal Sea Bass Recipe:

300g fresh Sea bass
5 thin slices of ginger, julienned
3-4 strips 玉竹
2 tbsp Goji 枸杞
5-6 dried longan 龙眼干
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp white pepper
1/2 tsp sesame oil
30ml Huiji Waist Tonic

1) Soak 玉竹 and 龙眼干 in warm water for 10 minutes.
2) Rinse fish fillet and remove any scales on skin. Prepare steamer.
3) Pat dry fillet and add seasoning; salt, pepper, sesame oil and let marinate for 10 minutes.
4) Place seasoned fillet on steamer plate, add the julienned gunner over it. Drain the rest of the dried herbs and top over the fillet
5) Lastly, slowly pour the tonic over the fillet. Start steamer and cook for 10-15 minutes at medium fire till the fish is cooked.
6) Top with fresh cilantro and serve immediately.

Another option is the Huiji Gift Set (Gift of Warmth) that is even better considering that it comes with the Huiji Waist Tonic and 6 bottles of Birds Nest (Rock Sugar and American Ginseng) as well as 2 tins of the Fruity Lite priced at $119 per set.

All the above mentioned Huiji Gift Sets can be purchased from NTUC FairPrice, NTUC FairPrice Finest and NTUC FairPrice Xtra(:
