This is our final day in Bangkok and whew, its been a fun trip! 5 days is a good time, a restful chill trip to explore a city even though we’ve been here a few times already.

Meanwhile, today’s agenda is all about utilising Grab delivery to dabao food without the need to head down to the eateries and avoid the queues.

We ordered:

• Pe Aor Tom Yum Kung Noodle ร้านพี่อ้อก๋วยเตี๋ยวต้มยำกุ้ง: had a huge craving for mama noodles and this was a nice way to try their tom yum. It’s not spicy and the seafood was fresh! Could do with an egg, perhaps next time we will try having it in person instead~
• Phed Mark เผ็ดมาร์ค: this is currently one of my favourite basil rice place. The portion tbh is quite big and can be shared between two people. I tried it last year, loved it and here I am dabao-ing it again this year. Loveee the duck egg so much!
• Bonus: I never knew we could order stuff from Big C and it was sooo convenient cos I couldn’t find some of my snacks at the supermarkets I visited. In the end, I found them off one of the more remotely visited Big C supermarkets and ordered them delivered. It was easy and not very expensive as well! The wait time was less than 1hr in case you were wondering hahaa.

Next on, getting even more food and souvenirs to dabao back home!

Since we were at Siam Paragon, we tried our luck to see the queue situation at the viral PARAMETER GELATO & GRANITA. Heh, it wasn’t too long so we went ahead to try it.

The pistachio gelato was indeed delicious but its way too pricey at 299 baht (S$12?!) for a tiny portion, even if it comes with a mini expresso sized cup and spoon that you can take home. Yeah this is expensive even by Singapore standards so I can’t imagine for Thai people 🙁 Let’s see how long this concept can last!

Other things we took away:

• YONG THONG MUAN: we had the soft thai crepes made on the spot previously on Day 1 and they were delicious. Obviously we couldn’t dabao that back and bought their crispy waffles instead. They came in a plastic container but I would recommend to hand carry them else they may get smashed to smithereens on the flight back. They made it back like half intact for ours lol..however not the best look for gifting haha.
• HAAB: my favourite dessert/brekkie, this super buttery Khanom Khai (Charcoal Egg Cake) is my absolute loveeee. Btw HAAB stands for Heart Attack Amount of Butter ans it’s worth every bite. Highly recommended as a souvenir and this can be easily transported in your luggage.
• Gamzai Thai Roasted Bun: It was a toss up between my favourite YOLK egg tarts or this. Since we already had sooo much sweet treats, let’s go for something more savoury and their thai roasted buns looked quite interesting. I had their signature pork and mentaiko plus barbeque pork. Sweet options etc are also available. Min 3 to be packed in a box for 100 baht which is not bad.
• Picked up a few other souvenirs from the supermarket including this garlic butter rice cracker for the hubs, for my family and fruits before we headed back to our hotel to pack and call for our Grab to the airport.

Though the BTS is so close to us, we took a Grab cos of the amount of luggage we had. Plus its not too expensive either compared to say Japan or even Singapore heh. Paying for the convenience – why not?

Except take note of the horrific jam if you’re staying at the Siam area. It took 30 mins for our Grab to arrive as he was stuck in the jam, then another 10-15 mins to get OUT of the jam haha.

However, we made it in the to the airport and it was such a smooth/easy process! We got in within less than 20 mins, immigration/luggage checks etc, very speedily like in Singapore heh.

We also visited Miracle Lounge, one of the last times I’ll be able to enjoy the unlimited lounge visits with the hubs cos his cc got nerfed. But okay la, back to normal life heh.

Was quite tired the night before and promptly fell asleep on the plane instead of writing my blog posts (lol!). No matter, the posts will get done hehe.

Landed, got off quickly and the hubs was off to redeem his free meal at Harry’s while I wanted to have my basil rice instead.

Went home, unpacked, decompressed and slightly regretted opening up my lappy to load my emails and review them. Immediate insomnia that night – its telling me to not work! Haha!
