Day 2 of our trip begins today!

The hubs was up bright and early while I, of course, slept in and chilled. Had a spot of fun with a couple of blind boxes earlier in the AM. 1, his Chagee Bes-Tea plush and 2, the Mr Merli plush we got for free by walking past an SG based pop up store at Siam Paragon.
It’s just been a year since our last visit and there are so many new stores. Love visiting the basement food area where everything looks sooo good.
Our main meal today was KHAO-SO-i, a popular noodles store hailing from Changmai known for their khao so, a form of curry noodles. We shared one set, upsized with the beef version, added chicken and the tofu side that came as a lunch set. Note, we heard it was spicy so go for the less spicy option to make it manageable and enjoyable. It was not too bad, a slighty sweet x spicy curry noodles. I like the tofu, kinda unique and tasted more like fish cake rather than tofu.
I also bought a few snacks before our show – assorted butter teoks from Butter Haus (Korea) and these soft pandan/coconut crepes pancakes from YONG THONG MUAN. Would skip trying out more teoks cos I don’t really like them no matter how viral they are. The latter was pretty yummy though, which is a compliment cos I don’t really like coconut in general. This was acceptable for me, while the hubs enjoyed it!
However, this isn’t the main highlight of the day.. or this trip.
THIS WAS.
Hahaha, our 1st ever ScreenX movie experience in Bangkok to watch Spiderman Brand New Day.
Fun fact, this is the first film under the CJ 4DPLEX “Shot for ScreenX” initiative, featuring 270-degree panoramic sequences. It’s only available at selected theatres including this ScreenX cinema at Siam Paragon.
It was pretty cool la and I really enjoyed the show. Props to maintaining the heart of what Spiderman has always been about, friendship, and character development. Its a movie that will make you go wow over the action scenes, emotional over certain scenes and laugh too, cos well, it’s Tom Holland and he’s hilarious haha. Excited for Avengers end year!!
After that, it was time for multiple food bites as we continue the feasting for the day..from the pistachio gelato from BLENDIES to Mak’s Noodles (why??!!) Hahaha, and plenty of walking around all the malls at Siam Paragon and CentralWorld to clock up those steps.
We also passed by so many bakeries and the one that really caught our eye the most was Sunmoulin, a premium Japanese bakery under the Yamazaki group. All their bread LOOKED and SMELT soo good, we were so tempted to eat them..
Alas, that’s too much carbs in a day and I refused to give into my cravings, lol. We did however, spend some time walking around a few other night markets and onwards to Platinum Mall.
But nope, Platinum Mall has dropped off from my shopping list and instead, I visit December’s located right next door.
Ever since my visit last year, I figured this was one of the best places to stock up on all my basic pieces/staples for less than $10 per piece. Settiny myself a budget of 250 baht ($10), it’s time to shop!!
Was quite pleased with my haul, netting 9 pieces for slightly less than $80. There were some outfits that have been trending but I never dared to try them so at least this time I could see, feel touch them and visualise them on myself. It’s still a very different experience vs shopping online. Also, the price isn’t too far off China (where they probably imported them from). When you factor in shipping costs from Taobao and etc, I would say the price is comparable and not cheaper.
We went to our final night market where it started drizzling again and aiya let’s just call it a day, order from GrabFood back (the hubs had a burger) while I nibbled on a corn cob.
The hubs had another surprise for me in store later on..sleep wear from Thailand’s famous slip n sleep brand. Hehe..thank you for constantly surprising me. I’m blessed!
(And also for carrying all my loots around the entire day hehe)
