This day was definitely one to remember.

• Suspected cause: my antibiotics.
• Result: one of the worst constipation cases I’ve ever had in my life, lol.

It was so bad that it kept me up awake that night (and the past 2 nights tbh). But today, was the worst one yet.

A) I decided to head out to the nearest 24hr 7-11 to see if I could get some laxatives. Unfortunately, they didn’t sell it.

B) I battled long and hard thinking whether to head to the hospital vs wait a couple of hours for the doctors to open.

C) By 5am, I was like – okay, no can do. I NEED the immediate relief.

So here I was at Parkway East emergency department..a little embarrassed and honestly, nervous/worried going to the A&E alone.

Luckily there weren’t alot of people and I could see the doctor almost immediately.

The result?

An enema. And yes, an almost instantaneous relief for the first bit..and around 45 mins spent in the toilet battling cold sweats, a dizzy/almost fainting spell – this was not an experience that you would like to go through. Plus a $300 bill too, haha.

BUT, was it worth it for that relief after?

Yes..I could finally head to bed at 730am for a quick rest cos I was up almost the entire night. Not fun.

It’s also normal to feel quite weak and drained after the procedure cos its basically an induced diarrhea. I laid in bed almost the entire day on MC and obviously a slight dose of embarrassment cos I had to inform my colleagues and bosses. But well, health over all indeed.

This year has not been good for my health. Fever earlier in the year, the eczema bacteria rash, now super bad constipation caused by the antibiotics used to treat the bacteria rash (the worst I’ve ever had).

At least I had some energy later that night to get out of bed, purchase my first official meal of the day and pick up some groceries before the hubs finally returns from his business trip tomorrow!

I can’t wait!
