#PublicHolidaysWithMitsueki: Pre-Valentines Day Date (Immersive Disney Experience/Black Tap Burgers/Drone Show/River Hongbao) – 12 Feb 2024

#PublicHolidaysWithMitsueki Pre-Valentines Day Date (Immersive Disney ExperienceBlack Tap BurgersDrone ShowRiver Hongbao) - 12 Feb 2024

It’s CNY Day 3 and here I am enjoying my daily buffet brekkie of CNY treats to clear them off before they expire lol. Are there any favourites that you spot? :p

Also spent the day getting ready for our Pre-Vday date that I planned for the mister cos you know .. our men also deserve to be pampered too! Wrapped up his gift as well, and added on things that he gifted to me (earrings, mask, shoes, bag) and I’m ready to go!

Our first stop was to visit the Immersive Disney Animation experience at Sands Theatre. Actually this has been on my radar for awhile now but the tickets are just slightly expensive imo. Fortunately, they were having a 50% off deal during CNY so I managed to snag them for less than $50 for 2 pax which is not bad for the price.

This experience is around 1.5 hours, where I booked the 4pm slot. You enter and wait to get into the theatre and this is where you can take the opportunity for the photo ops with Mickey and Frozen characters outside. Entering in, you are greeted with a mini exhibition and an area where you can learn how to draw your favourite classic Disney characters. As you can tell, we had a spot of fun drawing Donald and Mickey lol!

Afterwhich, we entered the multi sensory theatre room where an hour long mashup of popular Disney movies played on screen with occasional interactive elements including bubbles etc were released. It was a relatively magical experience that we enjoyed, suitable for kids and adults alike 🙂

The next stop – dinner at Black Tap Burgers! Reservations in advance highly recommended if you can. However, it was a public holiday that day so they didn’t take any hence we walked in to queue. We were very lucky that there were high table seats available for 2 so we said yes and got in within less than 10 mins of waiting time! Yay!

We ordered their All American Burger ($26) and Wagyu Steakhouse ($29), swapped one of the fries to Onion Rings (+$3) and ordered one of their OTT milkshakes, the Brooklyn Blackout ($21).

Defo a meal you’ll be stuffed cos the portions were HUGE, patty was thick and beautifully done and all was good; except the milkshake was wayyyyyyy too creamy & sweet / doused with so much whipping cream.

I would skip that and go for the burgers instead. Wouldn’t mind returning again to try the other burgers. Note that this is actually my 2nd visit, but the first time eating with the mister.

Also, service was good as well. Efficient and always having an eye out throughout the meal. Price point for this is around $92 for 2 pax, don’t forget to use your complimentary MBS membership to rack up points for cashback (think I got back $6-7).

Our next stop – watch the 8pm dragon drone show at MBS! Based on online reviews, we expected a huge crowd and there certainly was .. but it wasn’t AS BAD as I thought it would be tbh.

Maybe because we stood further to the side rather than the main area, and also left literally 30s before the drone show ended and quickly made our way to the exit ASAP. We also walked outside of MBS instead of heading in to avoid the massive crowd so it wasn’t too bad for us.

The drone show tbh was not bad however perhaps our angle wasn’t the best as our visibility was a little blocked. Nonetheless it was sufficient for us to enjoy and watch in awe 🙂

Not forgetting to snap a photo with the MBS dragon as well at the entrance haha!

Our final stop for the night was to visit the River Hongbao 2024! We were really lucky today that the weather was great and held up compared to the last two days. It rained a couple of times earlier so the weather was clear for all the outdoor activities we went for and I’m so thankful for that!

This marks our second visit to River Hongbao and ok la. Just stroll around to digest, see all the lighted up lanterns and more importantly..we were there to snap a photo with Cai Shen Ye hahaha! #HUATAH for a great 2024 ahead 🙂

And that’s it for our Pre-Vday date this 2024! I’m looking forward to what the mister will surprise me for Valentine’s Day on his side.. cos for once, we are celebrating it that day! :p
