#WeekendsWithMitsueki: Cafehopping at South Union Park x Self Storage - 28 Jan 2024

And this is how we spent our Sunday together on the last weekend of Jan 2024! It’s amazing how time flies huh?

Anyway like I mentioned before, it seems like our unofficial resolution this year is to tick off places that I’ve been meaning to try / go back again for the longest time. So instead of saying it, let’s do it!

One of them will be heading back to South Union Park for a meal which I’ve said countless times over the years. This is a cafe that the bestie introduced me to and I recalled since then that it was pretty good and wanted to come back ever since!

Best of all, you can use Burpple / Entertainer for 1-for-1 henceforth saving you a main course meal’s worth (between $20-30!). That’s because Cafehopping isn’t the cheapest hobby in Singapore either with prices ranging from that price!

We went for their pastas at $28 each, (1 for 1), the beef ragout pasta and signature duck confit tagliatelle, coupled with their truffle fries to round it off. The cost of this was almost $58 after the discount etc, which is a fair price to pay imo. Expensive, if we didn’t have the app! The taste was also good, preferred the beef over the duck confit and would be willing to come back to try their other pastas /win course in the future! Their fries were not bad too, and we polished off everything!

Reservations on the weekends highly recommended or you’ll be waiting outside for a seat like us. Service was a little gruff, maybe brusque to a certain extent at the the start but shone through after that. Free water after being served, and the waitress cleaned up and gave us a nice seated table (originally we were at the high tables). Food was served relatively fast as well. They are old hens at this being in the cafe business for so many years, not an easy feat to survive in this tough F&B scene especially in Singapore!

Next on, off to Boxpark we go to store up stuff after my CNY spring cleaning hahaha! Mainly it’s all my travel related stuff, luggage and a number of gifts / kitchenware for our future usage. I can’t wait till we get our house (3-4 years later..) so I can finally stop paying for storage rental 🙁

Nonetheless, all checked and it’s time to reward ourselves with a cold drink after battling the heat / helping me with the barang barang and lol, waiting for me to drive home and return again cos I forgot my keys HAHHA.

And that’s how to end the night right with a netflix movie, some snacks and fruits!

Gnite! Monday awaits~
