#OfficeDiaries Trying Out DDSD 大豆小豆 Black Sesame Beancurd x Final Farewell Dinner at The Sushi Bar x Bingsu Dessert - 27 Oct 2023

TGIF everyone! This Friday marks my first full week at my new job and so far, so good I suppose! My favourite part will be trying to figure out a lunch place to eat as I’m SUPER spoiled for choice here!

In the end, I decided to go for DDSD 大豆小豆 located at Hong Lim Market, a dessert place that has been on my to try list for the LONGEST time! Known for their unique black sesame beancurd, this is one dessert place you should try at least once! Note that there are two types, a pure black sesame beancurd OR the normal white beancurd with black sesame paste. I’ve heard the former tastes much lighter while if you prefer a heavier black sesame taste – go for the latter.

For this first try, I went for the black sesame beancurd with red bean and tangyuan topping. Not cheap too eh, coming at $3.90 for this but still okay la ahhaa. The taste wise is not bad and I enjoyed it! Will definitely come back again to try their other beancurds in the future 🙂

Also, this is the reason for eating light for lunch today = a heavy dinner at The Sushi Bar once again! Hahaha if you’ve been following my blog, you would have noticed that I just had it for my recent birthday treat from my colleagues and am back again in less than 1-2 months .. this time for a combined farewell dinner courtesy of my colleague!

We ordered the usual favourites and some new ones and they were all delicious. Would think this is now one of my fave Japanese places to eat, for now – except do take note that the portions are rather small for the price; but you’re paying for quality!

We finished off dinner by heading over to the Korean bingsu place located next door for an Oreo bingsu (large) to share. It was $15.90 for the large version .. good for sharing between 2-4 pax imo like us and there’s no service charge or GST woohoo! More importantly, we had fun as we said our final goodbyes to one of my ex colleagues will be leaving the co, and Singapore after that 🙁 You’ll be missed!

Finally to end off the night = destress/decompressing time with me just strolling around supermarkets and shops plus all that. It’s been a great week and I can’t wait to sleep in till late tml lol!

Thanks always for reading and see ya for my weekend adventure~
