Time really flies with -3 days to my last day here at the co. This means going on last day walks around the area and trying more of things that has been on my list; but never had the chance to try / revisiting my favourite places.

First point – trying out the German egg tarts from the new bakery cos it was on my to try list. Done!

Second – strolling around the neighborhood during my lunch time, soaking in the sights/feels, getting the usual cheap Fruits and trying the soy pudding from The Soy Pudding’s vending machine that I’ve been eyeing for a very long time ahhaha.

That’s that and all the usual handover stuff before heading out that evening for a food tasting dinner at Niu Dian’s 3rd outlet newly opened at Bugis Junction!

If you’ve been following my blog, you would know that this isn’t my first time trying Niu Dian! However, I’ll not be eating their usual Taiwanese soup noodles which they are famous for. Instead, we were here to try out their newly launched rice and noodle dishes instead; a great alternative to people looking for rice options 🙂

First, meet their braised pork belly rice or noodle bowl (dry). Fans of pork belly will love this comforting dish served over a bed of Taiwanese pearl rice or Niu Dian’s famous noodles. We had the noodles option that came with a nice chilli side, a boiled egg, veggies and house made braised sauce that pairs super well together!

Second, we tried their Yakiniku Pork Pearl Rice Bowl, for those who refer it with less fatty meat! However, this is done up slightly different cos you have the Grilled Yakiniku pork over scrambled eggs with plenty of sauteed onions on a bed of Taiwanese pearl rice. It’s relatively similar to a Japanese katusdon; except that you get Yakiniku Grilled pork instead of a fried katsu and this has slightly more sauce.

Trust us, it’s hard to stop tucking into the rice / noodles as their in-house crafted Braised and Yakiniku sauces pair super well with the delicious rice/noodles!

We also had two sides of cold century egg tofu, and braised beancurd (we loved this one!), alongside two refreshing drinks of lime & sour plum green tea with Aiyu jelly from Palace Tea to round off this delicious meal!
