WeekendsWithMitsueki Sear, Torch and Flambe On at Bulgogi Syo @ Bugis Junction x &Juilet Gala Premiere Night - 23 Sept 2023

As y’all know by now, my weekends are usually pretty jam packed with back to back meetings and appointments and today’s no different!

Our morning started late where we slept in for the day and chilled before heading out to meet Shereen and Lock for a lunch tasting at Bulgogi Syo located at Level 2 Bugis Junction.

In case you’ve never heard of Bulgogi Syo, it’s a new concept under the SEORAE brand featuring the first ever 3-step hotstone grilling technique (Sear/Torch/Flambé) from Korea uniting to bring you the perfect fire (bul), perfect meat (gogi) and the perfect experience (show)!

In a nutshell, if you’re lazy to BBQ your meat without the smoke, and just want to enjoy your delicious K-meat cooked to perfection served on your plate in front of you = this is the place to be!

Here’s featuring what we enjoyed at Bulgogi Syo:

Triple Meat Combo (Pork) for 2-3 pax ($59) – this comes 550g of triple Meat (pork baby back ribs, Duroc pork belly and pork collar) on a sizzling hotplate, a free jjigae soup, a separate vegetable platter (kimchi, pumpkin, cucumbers & fried egg) alongside two seaweed rice!

Not forgetting a flambe show right in front of your eyes where your meats will be set on fire! This is definitely very show/IG worthy and I highly recommend going for this option for 2-3 pax as the portion is sufficient for sharing. We loved the super tender baby back ribs while the rest of the pork were also yummy and delicious!

We went for the seafood jjigae soup option (top up required) and it was the perfect accompaniment to go along with our food!

Beyond the star dish, we also ordered a Wagyu tteokgalbi with cheese ($29.90 + $4 cheese) which is essentially grounded Wagyu patty that was usually meant to be eaten by royalty! As always the dish comes with an assortment of veggies if you were to order it in a hotplate – delicious with that yummy seaweed rice!

Before I forget, we also ordered the bacon kongnamul pancake ($15.90) to round it all off and it was definitely one of the better pancakes I’ve tried. This version comes with beansprouts and bacon and this combination works beautifully with a crispy pancake base – I highly recommend and would return to have this again!

Overall, we had an enjoyable time here at Bulgogi Syo and I’m so glad to have discovered this gem thanks to the food tasting invitation! Without a doubt, I think all of us will be back in the future/recommend to our friends after a lovely experience here. Thanks Protegie for having us!

Other wedding preps and matters followed after with trying on more new shoes for my PWS, revisiting some wedding venues/newer venues while waiting for a finalized confirmation. We’re honestly pretty close to firming up our venue tbh, after the final negotiations so hopefully this will be settled by the end of the month to start our credit card installments for the miles rackup.

Next up, back home to change before heading over to Marina Bay Sands for the red carpet gala premiere of &Juilet which we were kindly invited by Base Entertainment. This also marks our first ever musical together, and hopefully to more in the future.

It was an enjoyable time together watching & Juilet which we rated 4 + 0.5 for nostalgic factor (4.5/5) – I would highly recommend to watch it though I believe it would have ended it’s run by the time this blog post comes out!

Not pictured, our super unhealthy McDonald’s supper at 1130pm after the show cos we were kinda hungry after that. I think this is also our first time enjoying supper together as staying out late is a rare occurrence; unless I’m staying over / during our overseas trip.

Overall, it’s been a lovely Saturday. Gnite and thanks always for reading~
