#MitsuekiOnLeave: The Gown Connoisseur Gown Fitting Review – 15 Sept 2023

MitsuekiOnLeave The Gown Connoisseur Gown Fitting Review - 15 Sept 2023

Hello to being on leave today! It was a nice break from work and all that, but also cos I needed to run some important errands. Not to say I didn’t work on my off day either 🙁 It’s a must to do so with my event coming up so soon 🙁

At least I get to indulge in my fave mala from RiRi Hong which just opened recently nearby my place! But oof, it was around $10.30 for this..however a once in awhile indulgence/splurge is okay la. Hahaha

Moving on, it was time for our appointment at The Gown Connoisseur located all the way at AMK (closer to YCK), a pretty far place however I heard rave reviews about their service, gowns and price from other brides on the forums and Lemon8 so I was here to check them out! Note that appointments are required in advance and the initial consultation is around 2 hours long include trying on of dresses.

In a nutshell, there were no regrets for us coming all the way here! Right from the beginning the service was fantastic with a choice of drinks offered to us before we filled up a consultation form and meeting our gown specialist, Shermin! I literally wrote glittery, SPARKLY in caps in my request and she really delivered!

You also get to enjoy the exclusive fitting room with your name on it where you can bring in your drinks, fits up to 4 pax and there’s even a mini massager on one of the seats for the groom to enjoy while waiting for the dress reveal. The lights can also be switched up to different lightings so you can see how your dress will look like under various options and that’s really essential for many brides!

Plus not forgetting the range of gowns available! It’s not like rows and rows but I would say sufficient to be able to be spoilt for choice for BOTH your wedding and evening gown!

Here’s a sneak peek of what I tried on, basically the ones that I would likely NOT go for .. but they are pretty and I got the opportunity to try them out so why not? I liked that Shermin was able to bring out my favourite pieces and style (almost said yes to 2-3 dresses!!), and I was overall very impressed with them!

There’s also no hardsell – prices are nett and packages if any, are customizable/available to add on if you are undecided. More importantly, there is no decisive pricing on the spot, what you see online on the website is what you’ll be getting. Both of us agreed unanimously that this bridal shop is almost probably the one.

Why didn’t we sign yet on the spot? Well, we still gotta give chance la. The bridal studio that didn’t allow any gown try ons invited us for a trial gown fitting this weekend so I’m just gonna go and try it before going ahead. Nonetheless I think it will be hard to sway my decision which will mainly boil down to price, service and selection of gowns which The Gown Connoisseur has so far fulfilled.

However, never say never!
