It’s Day 5 of our trip and we’re heading off to Gold Coast for the next leg of the journey before returning back to Brisbane for one final time prior to our flight. Here’s our pretty chillax morning with his niece before we drove out at 11am or so to our lunch place!

A recommended/popular pit stop in between Brissy and Gold Coast will be Yatala Pies and we popped by there for lunch of their pies – steak and mushrooms for the mister, steak bacon & cheese for me while we shared an apple pie and bought a caramel tart takeaway. I thought the tarts were not too bad; just too dense/thick even for my liking. Nonetheless, not bad and we plan to pick up a pie or two back for the misters family on the return journey. More importantly, it’s about ticking off my to try list and we’re done!

Next stop, Ian Dipper Lagoon cos we could make it in time for the daily pelican feeding at 130pm. Obviously no touching but you can snap photos and watch the sight of the pelicans fighting over the fish parts. And then finally, we were in Gold Coast!
For this leg of our journey, we rented an Airbnb apartment located nearby the famous Surfers Paradise beach. The apartment located on the 28th floor was very much the same as what was pictured in the app and it was a lovely place indeed. The view was gorgeous as well as we face the sea/beach and this was a great spot as a base indeed.

Most importantly…we have free and fast WiFi in our apartment yay!!! Finally.. I’m able to surf the net, socials and get some work stuff done. Spent the next few hours working while the mister patiently chilled and waited up for me before we went out to explore the surrounding vicinity. That ended up to be mainly supermarket visits to Coles and Woolworths located nearby hahahhaha.

Finally, this is the moment the mister has been waiting for – his long awaited dinner at Hurricane’s Bar and Grill for his ribs! He went for a full rack of ribs cos we shared, and we also ordered their garlic cheese bread for a starter, a side salad for greens; alongside some chips aka fries. These are the super potatey type so if that’s your type, you’ll definitely love their fries! Otherwise opt for their potato fries instead because they look just as good!

This man also surprised me with a mini advanced birthday celebration where they lit up a sparkler and the whole restaurant & staff sang the birthday song for me. Awww…thank you 🙂
Not pictured after, except in my IG stories @mitsueki – we went back to our apartment to chillax, and I continued working cos yay finally I have WiFi hahaha.
Wondering what we’ll be doing tomorrow? Stay tuned to find out more and thanks always for reading 🙂
