Today is a special day for the mister and I as it’s our official anniversary day! But before we can get to celebrating it, it’s time to get work stuff done first!
Luckily it’s a WFH day too so this means heading out during lunchtime to get food for myself and my mom!

It was a light meal for me however, cos I would be having dinner tonight so I ended up having my first black sesame pancake from Munchi Pancakes (cos they were sold out on peanut :() paired with my last packet of fave choco milk. I also managed to squeeze in a quick workout incorporating those weighted skipping ropes and that was quite fun!

Then it was time for dinner at KOAL by Les Amis Group over at Shaw which is a place on my to try list for a long time. It’s a semi casual dining place serving charcoal grilled meats including steak, pork cuts and more at pocket friendly prices.

What we tried:
KOAL’s Bread Roll ($10) which comes highly recommended. It’s a freshly baked crispy savory bake served in a hot iron cast served with a cute sour cream and chives butter that went perfectly with the bacon/grilled spring onions in the bread. A lovely way to start off the meal; albeit a slightly expensive price tag of $10.
Mentaiko Fries ($15) with a special request for it to be more crispy which they delivered. Slightly addictive though I feel it’s abit too salty for my taste. It’s good to order for sharing in a group.

AUS grassfed ribeye 200g ($31) – decent cut at an okay price. We requested for medium rare however it turned out slightly rarer than the mister wanted though I was fine with it. We chose for it to go with the Yakiniku no Tare with confit garlic sauce that pairs pretty well with it.
Iberico Pork 180g ($20) – deftly sliced for sharing, this was a nicely grilled pork. We went with the Chimichurri sauce for this however, preferred the yakiniku sauce instead.
Overall, we paid around $90 for a meal for 2 pax here. A little pricey but once in awhile it’s ok especially on a special date like this. Also cos we already kinda celebrated it last week in Bali at Si Jin :p
Most importantly, it’s about the company and I had a wonderful time as always with the mister. To more years of celebrations ahead of us in the future 🙂
