#WeekendsWithMitsueki: Trying Dickson Nasi Lemak x Beyond Fruit x Bugis Shopping x Movie and Netflix Date – 6 May 2023

weekends with mitsueki dickson nasi lemak x bugis

The weekend is here and the first thing to do is insert in a quick workout before a heavy lunch of nasi lemak from Dickson Nasi Lemak!

It has been on my to try list for awhile now and we were further motivated thanks to a 10% discount from Krisflyer app if I’m not wrong. We ordered the full chicken drumsticks set for the mister and myself, while my mom had the thigh set. Fortunately we also ordered an extra side of the chicken thigh as the portion was relatively small for the latter.

I would recommend going for the more expensive option as the portion is much bigger and filling. However, it’s not cheap clocking in at close to $10. Nonetheless, it was a delicious packet of nasi lemak which we enjoyed and wouldn’t mind repurchasing again. Most importantly..it was mom approved, especially their sambal chilli!

Just opposite Dickson Nasi Lemak is the famous Petit Pain where the mister bought a couple of bakes – a brioche loaf, croissant and a chocolat au pain for us to share. Be prepared for a long wait of 20-30 mins to order over the weekend!

Next up, dessert time at Beyond Fruits at Bugis Junction where we had a portion of their sticky yogurt and frozen yogurt respectively. Not bad and I enjoyed their froyo.

Since we had some time to kill before our movie date, it’s time to go for some cheap shopping at Bugis Street. My suggestion for budget shopping is to have a ballpark figure in mind for the amount that you’re willing to spend and try to stick to it cos if you don’t, you might happily spend. For my case, I would put about $5-10 on tops/bottoms/shoes, and $10-15 (and if I really really like it, $25 tops) for dresses. And yes, I was able to find quite a number of steals and ended up buying 2 dresses and a top for $35. The quality was pretty good too and you can see/touch the material before you purchase. Some shops also allow exchanges which is great if you can’t fit.

Oh yes Guardians was pretty good. Definitely one of my top rated marvel movies to date and I would highly recommend to watch if you haven’t done so yet 🙂

And finally, this is always my favourite way to spend with the mister – over Netflix, chill, eat and spending quality time together. I really look forward to moments like these when we just curl up together on the sofa and watch shows mindlessly. Super unproductive and redundant, but fun heh.
