It’s so rare to have a long weekend and enjoying time off with the mister – but I ain’t complaining cos I had a wonderful day out with the mister this Labor Day Holiday!

First up, was to get my baguette fix from Banh Mi Saigon which I had been harping to go back to try for a few months now.. and finally we were here!

As the banh mi store kinda went viral on Tiktok recently = it resulted in loads of people knowing about this (not so hidden) gem now, and thus, queues arised. We went during lunch hour and there was a long queue up to the stairwell area, but luckily it moved quite fast. However, note that’s just taking your order and making payment.

Expect to wait around 10-15 mins for your turn, and then an additional 10-15 mins for your food to be ready. Keep your receipt to take note of the numbers being called out and just head over to collect the food.

The bahn mi are best eaten hot and crispy on the spot so grab a stool (ideally beforehand if possible) from the shade and enjoy your freshly prepared baguette! I went for their usual special, which is similar to a cold cut trio but Vietnamese style, while the mister went straight for the beef special. Both were great and we gobbled both down with gusto! He also ordered a Vietnamese black coffee to go along with it and enjoyed this entire meal!

I’m grateful!

Next up, heading over to the supermarket to stock up on a week’s worth of healthy fruits at home cos that’s what we usually have for dinners on a normal weekday.

What I didn’t expect is to binge watch 9 episodes of The Glory at one go that very day over fruits, LOADS of unhealthy chips and all that. But that’s okay, super unproductive and mindless, however the best part is because I was in my favourite company above all!

The only downside about this long weekend = anything related to work = out of my head so you gotta like recalibrate back to work mode tomorrow.

On a bright side.. it’s a short week ahead!
