#WeekendswithMitsueki: Double Dating x Advanced Birthday Celebration for the Mister – 7 April 2023

weekends with mitsueki x double dating celebration x jia he restaurant x movie date

The long weekend is here and this kicks off the start of a week long celebration for the mister starting off with a double date day out with the wife and her hubs!

But first..a workout and small bites before we headed to the MRT to train down for lunch! This was when we met our first circle line disruption which led us to wait for almost 20 mins + for the train..and in the end, grabbed down instead cos our friends were waiting for us 🙁

Plus we were hungry too! Hence this full line up of delicious dim sum goodness that we enjoyed at Jia He Chinese Restaurant at Farrer Park!

Added to that, we also ordered a number of mains including gu lo rou, roasted duck and pork belly, carrot cake and dessert to round it all off. In a nutshell, we were STUFFED thanks to the generosity of these wonderful people. Yeah..it was a birthday treat for the mister, but they also treated me too 🙁

Next up! We headed down to Ma Maison at Mandarin Gallery for some teabreak, but mainly so that we could order a slice of cake and tart for the mister to have mini celebration. The staff were also very accommodating when we asked for a candle so that was nice! Beyond that very nice fruit cake and strawberry tart, we also ordered their americano (which both of them said were great!) and an English fruit tea to share with myself + her hubs cos we were same taste friends hahaa. Each drink also comes with a free cookie and they were delish – till the wife went ahead to buy a packet after that 🙂

It’s time for a double movie date next at Cathay Cineleisure to watch the new Jackie Chan movie – Ride On! It was a pretty good family movie, very cheesy, plenty of CGI (lol), some heartwarming moments that made me and the wife tear up at least twice! Lol, it was hilarious that we were wiping our tears away during the movie.

And to end off the night – we grabbed dinner of fish soup from my fave soup stall and I tried the sauerkraut soup, alongside my usual collagen soup and I think I found a new found love!

We parted ways after that as we said our goodbyes for the night – it’s been an awesome #doubledate night out and I feel really blessed to be surrounded by all these wonderful people!

Most importantly hopefully the mister had the most fun out being the star of the night :p
