It’s the weekends and my first more than 7 hour sleep since the week started 🙁 at least I’m getting this chance to recuperate, rest and relax before the next charge up for the week ahead!
With just one key item on my itinerary list today, we were off for a tasting session at Niu Dian Beef Noodles from Taiwan endorsed by Show Luo. I’m really glad to still receive such opportunities like this so I’m thankful!
Located at VIIO @ Balestier (next to Zhongshan Mall), it’s not the most accessible to get to as there is no MRT. We drove and that was easy cos you can’t miss the entrance!
Here’s what we tried!
For noodles:
– Combination specialty beef noodles in their original broth ($19.90)
– Trio specialty beef noodles in their braised broth (spicy) ($19.90)
For sides:
– Cold century egg tofu with Bonito flakes ($5.90)
– Braised beancurd ($3.90)
& Drinks from Palace Tea
My faves will be the braised beancurd & the trio specialty beef noodles with braised broth, while the mister preferred the original broth. I also liked their salted veggies which really goes well with the soup/or on their one so it’s a must have to help yourself to at their condiment section (DIY).
Overall, we enjoyed the meal and it sure brings us back to Taiwan~

Meanwhile since we were at Balestier area where you can find three popular tau sar piah places, of cos we had to go get some for our family and friends. There is one right across Zhongshan Mall called House of Tau Sar Piah, 603 Tau Sar Piah and Loong Fatt Tau Sar Piah further down the road. Of all three, I’ve tried 603 which were not too bad.
This round, we decided to queue up for the most popular option which is Loong Fatt and got ourselves their sweet / salty version at $1.20 each, as well as their banana and butter cake. The crust was nice and the filling, not too bad too. They are all baked fresh and piping hot as they are placed in your boxes – best eaten fresh on the day itself, even better if on the spot. Meanwhile the banana cake was just meh, but the butter cake was decent and buttery.
With that said, that’s all for our outing for today as we headed back to my place to drop off the car and I did some housework first (vaccum/mopping, the like) before heading over to the misters place to catch up on ALL our animes for the week (Vinland Saga/My Hero Academia/Blue Lock), as well as episodes of Physical 100 and The Last of Us. It was a very satisfying way to end off the night spending quality time together, even getting some of my blog work done and I’m good for this Sat.
