Office Diaries: #ITAP2022 x Truffle Season at Gochi-So Shokudo – 19 Oct 2022

Welcome back to the office cos I’ve got meetings and plans for the day. But first, as always – meals for today.. a ham and cheese sandwich, biscuits, chocolate milk and taohuey before heading off that afternoon to..

.. visit ITAP 2022 with my colleague and intern in tow cos of course, we gotta at least pop by to give some moral support to the team behind the scenes.

As always, one of the shining stars in our event portfolio is this event and boy, was it a successful one so far. Graced by our ministers, published in the news/on TV and attended by both local and international delegates – great job to to the ITAP team!!

Beyond that, my next event to hop onto was at the Gochi-So Shokudo outlet at Jewel, Changi Airport for a tasting session of their newly launched dishes available in November.

Introducing the Truffle Katsu ($18.90++), Truffle Jowls Don ($12.90++) and their Signature Iberico Secreto (Black Char Siew) – $9.80++ for 6 pieces.

The first two dishes are part of their new truffle dishes while the latter is their Signature dish and we really enjoyed them all.

In case you were wondering, the truffle taste/smell can be quite strong – however, truffle lovers will definitely enjoy these two dishes.

In my opinion, the truffle Katsu was overall more impressive for the portion, aesthetics and taste because honestly, you can’t go wrong with fried crispy katsu of cheese, pork and mushroom combination, alongside some fresh cabbage. Be sure also to grind up the sesame seeds with sauces which really helps to elevate the taste of the katsu and goes well with the rice too.

I also highly recommend their Signature iberico secreto as well for that delicious charred flavour which works well as a side.

Overall, we definitely had a delicious meal to end off our mid week and will return again in the future.
