Office Diaries: Twinning Day x Trying Saigon Banh Mi x #OtakuMode – 13 Oct 2022

office diaries saigon banj mi x twinning

Hellooo to a twinning day with my office today this Thurs morning in office! We also went for our first car wash together just because, before we headed out to have lunch later that afternoon.

Lunch ended up to me the famous Saigon Banh Mi outlet at Ang Mo Kio where many people have raved or touted it to be as one of the best banh mi in Singapore! Having a car to go there is highly recommend, though it is kinda walking distance from the MRT (~10-15 mins walk).

It is located within a Vietnamese minimart at the BLK 505 AMK HDB estate with two quaint little sitting areas – similar to those at the street side in Thailand/Vietnam. And lucky for us, there weren’t anyone there at all yay!

Each order is prepped only upon ordering and you’ll DEFINITELY be spoiled for choice in terms of the banh mi options as they all look good. Prices are also on a pricier side starting from $7.90 for a meat option and ranges up to $9++. However, rest assured that you’re getting a HUGE banh mi stuffed generously with loads of meat.

I went for the cold cut special while the office wife went for the roasted pork, and added on extra coriander (eww?!) and a roasted meat on skewers.

And then, we eat.

Wow, the banh mi was just STUFFED to the brim with so much meat, and super super crispy. We enjoyed it very much, though it is a very messy affair to be eating it. You can’t stop eating..and trust me, this is a filling meal.

It was so good, I decided to do a takeaway for the mister to try. You can request for them to pack all the veggies and sauces separate from the meat and bun. Then after that, toast the latter before stuffing it with the veggies etc yourself like what I did.

This was worth it seeing the mister gorge it all down. He loved it too! 🙂 Highly recommended and we’ll definitely be back next time!

Before I forget, I also popped by the Thai bakery at Lavender before I ended work to pick up the chocolate banana cake for brekkie tml – it comes in a nice portion suitable for 5-6 pax (1 slice each) and good for sharing 🙂

And here’s ending off with a quick work out, the last episode of She-Hulk and watching Bleach and Chainsaw Man! #otakunightftw!
