Weekends with Mitsueki: Cafehopping @ The Oyster Bank x DOPA x Exploring Tanjong Pagar x Anime #Otaku Night – 9 Oct 2022

weekends with mitsueki dopa dopa oyster bank

If you love oysters, you’ll love it at The Oyster Bank especially when they have plump juicy morsels of fresh oysters at $2++ that you can purchase with an alcoholic drink per person during their happy hours. I think that there’s a max cap of 6 oysters per drink but hey, it’s still rather worth it.

For us, we were there for both the oysters and their mains since I was lucky to win myself a $50 voucher in a recent giveaway! Having said that, we ordered 4 of their naked oysters, as well as two mains of a beef tataki Don and a mentaiko aburi salmon don.

It wasn’t cheap however, with the meal costing us around $60+, so I paid about $10+ for it for 4 oysters and 2 mains. However, I would return again as their oysters are fresh and rather value for money. Would opt to skip the rice bowls as the portions are a little small for the price, and opt for larger sharing plates like the mentaiko fries and other side dishes in the future.

They also have other outlets including at Great World City and Funan, beyond this outlet at Tanjong Pagar so feel free to choose the most convenient location. The only other downside? They don’t take reservations so it’s all walk-ins only.

@mitsueki 🦪🍋 Shuckle me raw with just a squeeze of lemon and I’m good for the day. Best of all – when these naked oysters cost $2++ all day at The Oyster Bank Tanjong Pagar outlet with one alcoholic drink ordered. They were really plump, juicy and very fresh – absolute great value for the price. We also ordered some of their mains, the aburi mentaiko don, as well as the beef tataki don. The former would taste better with fries as it can be a little too taste heavy while we both enjoyed the beef don, albeit the slightly pricey price for the size. Overall, it was still a good visit and I’ll be back next time to get my fresh oyster fix, and probably try their fries the next time and other side dishes. No reservations, all walk-ins only. It was quite quiet on a Sunday afternoon as you can tell so don’t say I never share 😉 📍The Oyster Bank (Tanjong Pagar) 39 Tg Pagar Rd, #01-02, Singapore 088462 #mitsuekieats #mitsuekieatssg #rawoysters #oysters #rndx #rndxeats #theoysterbank #nakedoysters #foryoupage #tiktoksg #sgfoodie #wheretoeatsingapore #foodies #tiktokfoodies #singapore #foodiesoftiktok #fyp #foryou ♬ BOOM – Tiesto

If you’re at the Tanjong Pagar like us, be sure to swing by one of the many gelato/ice cream shops around the area like the newly opened DOPA, which is the second outlet of the popular DOPA DOPA.

Choose to eat in at their HDB void deck themed eatery, or a takeaway. Whichever option you choose, I’m sure you won’t regret trying their ice cream as they have one of the better roasted pistachio ice cream in Singapore! Some may find it a tad too sweet, so maybe you opt to pair it with their hazelnut flavor which is surprisingly less sweet and the combination of both works rather well together.

Will definitely be back at DOPA or DOPA DOPA to try their other flavours including White Peach, Macadamia, Ferrero and more in the future! 🙂

@mitsueki Be sure to pop by DOPA DOPA’s second outlet, DOPA located at Tanjong Pagar Plaza to get your pistachio ice cream fix in a cool void deck theme design! 📍DOPA 7 Tanjong Pagar Plaza, #01-107, Singapore 081007 #foryou #fyp #foodiesoftiktok #singapore #tiktokfoodies #foodies #wheretoeatsingapore #sgfoodie #tiktoksg #mitsuekieatssg #foryoupage #pistachio #pistachioicecream ♬ Ice Cream – Tydus

Beyond going cafe hopping, you can also take the time to explore the Tanjong Pagar area after/before your meals as there are plenty of see/do/and yes, eat around the area.

Our explorations aka recce brought us to walk past all the Korean BBQs and more at the Tanjong Pagar shophouses area, to Tanjong Pagar Plaza where you can find a number of hidden gems and my fave ramen place / DOPA, to 100AM for Donki and a whole range of Japanese food/snacks and of course, Maxwell Food Centre for delicious/affordable food. We’ll definitely be back in the area to eat especially with our upcoming staycay happening in late Nov!

And finally, to end off the night – we have our Donki meals paired with a catch up of all my recent new animes from SPY X FAMILY, Mob Psycho 100 and My Hero Academia.

We live in such awesome times.
