Happy Mother’s Weekend! I hope you’ve had a good celebration with your mom on this day, or if you’re a mom – I hope your family has treated you like the queen you are!

My day started off great with a delicious peanut butter sandwich before heading out with my mom to run some errands.

We celebrated Mother’s Day a day earlier and dabao-ed from PUTIEN instead of eating out so that we could avoid the crowds in the mall and ordered a couple of dishes including their signature red lor mee, bee hoon, gu lou rou with lychee and a beancurd x Chinese cabbage soup.

Very soupy, nourishing and delicious, all 3 of us enjoyed this meal very much 🙂

Not forgetting some gifts that the mister bought for my mum – chicken essence / birds nest collagen drinks; alongside some chilli paste from PUTIEN which my mom liked 🙂 My contribution on the other hand was chipping in for the meal, and of course a big fat e-angbao to her bank account hehe.

Beyond that plus a movie later (The Lost City) and having desserts for dinner that night – it was a pretty chill day after that. However, one of the best things happened on this day and it is…

We’re going on a trip!! A proper one and our first ever overseas trip as a couple~ Booked it on the spot today for a short getaway to one of my favourite cities for my birthday in August.. hint, it’s my yearly “pilgrimage” there pre-COVID so I was beyond eggcited planning out our itinerary the whole day.

I’m excited, so very excited!! Finally :’)
