Mitsueki on Leave (SP Phase 2 (HA), Day 183 (Day 718): An Eggcellent Prawn Mee from One Prawn & Co – 30 Mar 2022

Today’s the second last day of my long leave and I was determined to make full use of it to the best of my abilities!

This means slacking off alot, motivating myself to workout after a long hiatus, enjoying some home cooked food, catching up on some reading and scrolling my socials!

I did head out after that during dinner time as we had a media tasting session at the famous One Prawn & Co in their newest outlet over at MacPherson area.

With a large selection of prawn noodles go choose from, we decided to opt for the One Prawn & Co jumbo prawns ($22) and the five fortune jumbo prawns ($30) claypot respectively paired with yellow noodles (wet) for the mister and yellow noodles + bee hoon (dry + chilli) for myself!

In addition, we also ordered the ngo hiong to try and they have a sampler platter for 1-2pax for $8.50 that pairs extremely well with the slightly sweet dip!

All together, the noodles were perfectly done and super savoury and they are served separately in individual bowls.

Meanwhile, the main star, aka the prawn soup are served individually in claypots as pictured so your noodles don’t get soggy. As you can tell, each claypot is packed chockful of ingredients and the broth is extremely thick, rich and very savory – it’s easily one of the better prawn mee soup I’ve tried for sure.

Overall, it was an excellent meal that we enjoyed here at One Prawn & Co which definitely lived up to the hype. The only gripe I have about the place is just the price which can be a little too steep for an everyday meal. It’s also only open for lunch as it closes at 5pm.. at this price point, I think people would be willing to pay for it during dinner.

Another alternative = you can always share one claypot as the portion is good for two small eaters, or a very hungry person and you can order two noodles instead to save on the costs. Beyond that, you’re definitely getting a fantastic quality meal for the price!

Meanwhile, here’s the best way to end off the night = watching the first episode of Moon Knight on Disney+, spending quality time together and a bonus photo of Sparky heh 🙂

1 day to go before the end of my leave 🙁
