Weekends with Mitsueki (SP Phase 2 (HA), Day 111 (Day 645): Wild West Staycation at Raffles Marina (Day 2) x Exploring the West of Singapore – 16 Jan 2022

weekends with mitsueki raffles marina wild west staycation review

Day 2 of our Wild West Staycation with Raffles Marina began on an early note where we woke up for our complimentary breakfast at Marina Bistro!

There was a choice between continental, American and an Asian breakfast set and we both opted for the American set which comes with a choice between orange juice v fruit platter (we chose the latter), toast or Danish pastries (we chose 1 set each), choice of egg style (we chose scrambled & omelette each), choice of meat (we chose bacon and ham respectively) served with hashbrown, a slice of Cucumber and tomato as well as coffee or tea.

Overall, a pretty hearty breakfast to start off the morning right!

P.s in case you missed out on Day 1 and the full review, read it here:

Since we had some time to spare before our 12pm checkout/lunch reservation, we decided to kill off some calories by having some fun by the pool! Do note that you will need to register a slot at the security counter where you can also get your hands on a pool towel for your usage!

Clear blue skies and a beautiful view – this feels like a real resort away from Singapore with some Bali vibes!

In a nutshell, we had a blast here snapping plenty of photos and playing around since we were pretty much the only people at the pool hehe. #bueypaisay

Checking out was a breeze with a drop off of your room key at the reception and off we went next for lunch – once again at Marina Bistro.

This time, we had a table view facing the sea/marina and it was stunning!

Here’s lunch – nasi goreng istimewa and fish and chips followed by desserts of a chocolate lava cake with a scoop of ice cream, as well as an ice kachang! The portions are really big and super value for money, it’s pretty worth it if you plan to dine at Raffles Marina in the future 🙂

We were off next to Asia Pacific Breweries for the Tiger Brewery Tour booked at 2pm! This is because guests staying at Raffles Marina can enjoy a 30% off discount off their tours, hence paying $14 for this one hour tour instead of $20! The promo code will be issued to you after your booking with Raffles Marina to book your slots in advance 🙂

And for $14 (U.P $20), it’s worth it cos you get a behind the scenes tour of our very own tiger beer, some history snippets, chances to win a full pint with some quiz questions..

.. and more importantly, free sampling tickets at the Tiger Beer tavern where you can have a sampling session of tiger beer cocktails, more tiger beer samples, cider and more! We also had a half pint of tiger beer for free, coupled with free flow nuts to go with.

Oh and a freshly chilled tiger beer bottle to bring home as well. Super worth it right? And it’s only 5-10 mins away from Raffles Marina via grab/car, making it a convenient stop using the hotel as a base to explore the west side of Singapore!

Another place we explored was Singapore Discovery Centre, also within the vicinity (~10-15 mins away) and a partner of Raffles Marina where you can enjoy 20% off some of their attractions!

General entrance is free for Singaporeans but the paying ones are the reason why you should come – including the Black Lake Facility escape room, laser battlefield, XD ride and more!

So we went for our first couple escape room (The Medical Centre) at Black Lake Facility paying $24 per pax (U.P $30) thanks to the promo code from Raffles Marina.

As well as the XD ride paying $8 per pax (U.P $10), also with the same promo code!

So happened that we could also get our hands on free CNY red packets by going through the lens of time attraction (free) and leaving a review so yay for free stuff!

In addition, they were giving away free tote bags (just leave a review) where you can design it on your own with the markers provided and we went ahead to do so too 🙂

On the whole, this is definitely well worth a day exploring the West side after checking out of the hotel!

If you don’t have a car like us, what we did is to leave our luggage at the reception/security office while we went out to explore the area. All you gotta do is to head back to pick them up and you’re pretty much ready to head home either via taxi (I recommend calling Comfort as it may be hard to get a grab ride), or via MRT (Tuas Link), just located right outside the hotel!

We opted for the former as it was raining heavily and was driven home in comfort/shelter. What a perfect way to end off our 2D1N staycay right with Raffles Marina!

Bonus: that lil gift from the Mister that made my day even better 🙂 I’m a blessed girl!

Most importantly, thanks always for reading and don’t forget that if you’re interested to book this Wild West staycation at Raffles Marina – you can do so HERE! (Valid till 31 March 2022)!
