Happy weekend everyone! As I said yesterday, this weekend is going to be a jam packed one for the Mister and I as we were going for a sponsored Wild West staycation courtesy of Raffles Marina! The full post can be found HERE, but if you’re interested in a day by day breakdown – read on for more!
As a quick recap in case you haven’t read the full post yet – this is the Wild West Staycation by Raffles Marina that includes a 1N stay in either their Standard/Deluxe Room for $120++ (weekdays) and $150++ (weekends)!

The package includes free breakfast, parking, complimentary use of the club facilities including the pool and gym, as well as a free fishing permit to fish at their breakwaters, free fishing bait, free storage of your catch and even complimentary cooking of your catch at Captain’s Table Chinese Restaurant (rod rental not inclusive)!
Additionally, all RM (Raffles Marina) guests get to enjoy discounted attraction tickets around the vicinity and these promo codes will be emailed to you after your booking – 15% off Mandai Wildlife Private Tours, 30% off the Tiger Brewery Tour and 20% off many of the attractions located within Singapore Discovery Centre! In a nutshell, this package is a very good deal!
Anyway, back to this post – Day 1 started off with packing our bags, a light lunch and prepping for the staycay later that afternoon. Check in was at 3pm, but we decided to head down earlier to recce the place and snap all the necessary photos/videos for the ad post in advance.

Raffles Marina is actually pretty accessible via public transportation, aka MRT because it’s next to Tuas Link MRT (~5 mins walk), yes that super last stop right at the end of the green line. However, to reach there in comfort especially with all your bags etc, I suggest you take a grab down. If you drive, that’s even better because complimentary parking is inclusive in the Wild West staycation package from Raffles Marina!
Stepping in, we were pretty wowed by the resplendent lobby reminiscent of the grand lobby you see onboard luxury cruise ships like Royal Caribbean. Checking in was fast as well and we got our room keys slightly earlier so we could check in first.

Here’s a quick look of our super spacious Standard room with a balcony view overlooking the atrium lobby below! The full room tour featuring all the amenities can be found in this post HERE!

Then we were off to explore the rest of the club facilities including their gym, swimming pool, private member’s club, the marina area, breakwater and the iconic Raffles Marina Lighthouse.

Since our Wild West Staycation package includes a complimentary fishing pass + fishing bait with free storage and cooking of our catch at their in house restaurant, we decided to go ahead to try our hand at fishing for the first time! Okay, more like this would be my first time fishing while the Mister has fished before previously hahaha.
Do note that fishing rod rentals are not inclusive in the package, however they can be rented at $15 per rod from the Uncle’s fishing store (at the carpark area).

He was also nice enough to show me a demonstration on how to hook the bait (frozen prawns or live prawns) and throw the line using the rod and then we were off to the Raffles Marina Breakwater for some fishing!
Do remember to get your permit at the security office prior and you’ll get a sticker + permit in case the patrolling guards request to see it. It usually costs $40 nett (weekdays) / $50 nett (weekends) for a day pass (8am-5pm) but this is included in your staycay package for free!
Oh and do come prepared too with full protection, a sun hat (borrowed from the uncle), UV jacket, sunscreen, long sleeve/pants etc especially if you’re fishing during the day like what we did! It’s functionality > fashion so it didn’t matter how I looked hahahahah!

Obviously..we went back empty handed because we only spent about 1hr++ but that’s okay heh! More importantly, it was fun admiring the view at the breakwater and learning how to cast my line.
Here’s a quick change as we wanted to snap some ootds and photos with the sunset around 630-7pm and boy, were we lucky to be able to see the setting ball of sun slowly head down the horizon at the breakwater. It was gorgeous!

We had a 730pm dinner reservation next at one of their in house restaurant, Captain’s Table Chinese Restaurant located at Level 2 of Raffles Marina, courtesy of the hotel (not inclusive in the staycay package) where we enjoyed a 5 course executive set menu priced at an affordable $19.80++ per person (min 2 orders per table).

The meal started off with a soup, main option, vegetable, rice and then ended off with dessert of the day, aka watermelon! Note that this menu will differ from 1-15th of the month and 16-30/31 of the month and you can view it here!

If you can, go for their signature coffee ribs and black pepper Wagyu sliced beef! We also tried their salted egg prawns (on the ala carte menu) and this was delicious! Overall, a really good meal to end off Day 1 of our staycay right at Raffles Marina!
Finally, here’s how you can end off the night right = with a stroll along the Raffles Marina breakwater to admire the view at night, including the lighthouse. The sea breeze makes this stroll really enjoyable as you look out to the open sea and catch the twinkling stars at night. Very romantic too :p #justsaying
And that’s how Day 1 of our Wild West Staycation was like at Raffles Marina! If you’re interested to find out more about Day 2 – stay tuned for tomorrow’s post!
Most importantly, thanks always for reading!
