Yes yes it’s another WFH day again today – especially with the recent rise of cases in the community! We hit 900+ new cases today; the most since May 2020 and even more than Tokyo!
However, I mean this is to be expected as we were alrdy informed previously to expect more community cases to hit 1000+ daily; and more deaths as well while we embark on the “endemic” roadmap towards normalcy one day. Fingers crossed!
In work life, nothing much to update here beyond my morning meetings & presentations, meals at home (thanks mom :)) and the occasional snacking!
Again, my 9.9 deliveries from Shopee and other stores keep arriving with back to back delivery drivers popping up on my doorstep hahaha. Glad to receive a couple of them as I’ve been waiting – upcoming birthday/Xmas presents all ticked off; and new clothes to pamper myself too :p
Went for one of my longest jog/walk today with my favourite person as we ramped it up for a calorie congesting dinner tonight at Smokey’s American Grill and BBQ for some ribs and burgers. Oh and my favourite Suntory Salty Honey Lemon drink to cool off first!
So this was in our hood all this while and we never really explored it.. till now la. Reservations recommended as it can get pretty crowded especially on weekends and Friday nights. For Thursday nights, it’s crowded because of the $10 burgers (min of 1 drink ordered) and all day happy hour!
The clientele that frequent here will be mostly expats in general I would say and some locals living around the area like us. Feels like a throwback to being in the States with the vibes and all that – we liked it! Service is pretty good too; very friendly staff 🙂
Now onwards to the food – a half slab of their signature baby back ribs with a swap up of their fries to onion rings ($2) and coleslaw to the corn bread (+$3) alongside a classic Smokey’s burger going at $10 with fries and we ordered a Southern handshaken ice lemon tea to wash it all down.
My take? The burger was FANTASTIC! Easily one of my favourite burgers even without cheese. Will actually be back again just for the burgers! The ribs were not too shabby imo; though my dining companion says they were a tad tough (I disagree?!). He prefers the ribs from Meat N Chill which we enjoyed a couple of weeks ago with A & C.
Nonetheless, absolutely no regrets here though we pretty much ate our calories back from our walk! Hahaha. Oh yes and they have a rebate system going on too so the bill came up to about $62.38 with a cashback of $2.92!
Now..time to walk off some of the calories by exploring the rest of our hood since we were at it! Our best find imo is stumbling upon Little Farms at Katong Point, a couple of nice cafes/restaurants for future visits – overall, a great way to end off my Thursday night right before heading home 🙂
And here’s the finishing touch – scheduling all of SG Lifestyle’s upcoming posts for the week!
Gnite and thanks always for reading! Stay safe too yeah?
