Wow, I haven’t slacked off like this and nua-ed in bed for a long long time – at least for a couple of weeks; or even MONTHS. No kidding, was lying in bed vegging on my socials this morning from 830am to 11am+ and it FELT GOOD.
Also celebrating the end of the 11 day COMEX Festival 2021 which ends today and yayy, I’m finally free!! 3rd event down for the year with one final final one to go~
And how am I celebrating it?
IT’S STAYCAY TIME!!
But first, getting a lil work done first cos I’ll be on leave on Monday! Oh and a workout too!
And then it’s time to check into my staycay place at Hotel G! We got a fabulous offer off Traveloka or was it Trip where we snagged a staycay package for less than $90 that includes a 1N stay in the Greater King Room (upgraded), free breakfast, parking, and even a $50 voucher for their in-house restaurant at Ginett – what a steal!
This also explains the queues for the check in which took awhile but it wasn’t too shabby. The service was good and the staff, fantastic despite the number of people.
Woohoo and we’re all checked in! The room was slightly bigger than I thought it would be (based on photos), so that was not too bad. I don’t expect much as well for the price paid la hahhaa.
No frills, but comfy and it has everything we need in a typical hotel room; except a mini fridge. Think a favourite spot is the bed with a lovely dreamcatcher overhead which makes it so whimsical!
Hehe and I was pretty excited for dinner at Ginett with our $50 voucher! Reservations recommended and we booked it in advance on Chope prior.
Do note that the food takes quite awhile to be served so it was fortunate that we ordered a lobster bisque ($17) as an appetizer. They also serve complimentary bread that are freshly baked so you can stave off the hunger pangs while waiting for your mains.
And here are our mains – a kurobuta pork chop ($34) for my dining partner and the olio scampi ($21) using house made egg tagliatelle for myself! The pork chop/steak doesn’t come with any complimentary sides as they are all charged separately so we opted for the mushroom fricassee ($9) and a French fries ($9). No drinks for us even though wine here is really cheap starting at a mere $6 for a glass of a basic white/red/rose.
Overall it was a very pleasant dinner and I enjoyed my pasta, the mushroom fricassee alot! The pork chop was a lil tough at some spots, fries were your normal shoe string cut fries while the soup was a tad salty but not too bad.
I would return again for the pasta and perhaps try their steak. My dining companion agrees :p
And always always, it’s the company and conversations that matters the most to me!
