Weekends with Mitsueki (CB Phase 2, Day 99 (Day 173): Succulent Marble Pot Workshop with Sony x Trying Out Joy Luck Teahouse x Movie Marathon Night! – 26 Sept 2020

weekends with mitsueki succulent pot sony workshop

LOL. I spoke too early.

Dat me. Awake at 730am, and then being fully awake at 8am 😂😂

Again, not a bad thing cos this means I had enough time to complete a #chloeting before heading out that morning!

Brekkie to fill my tummy!

Unfortunately, I’m so pampered now by the convenience of Grab (plus my own procrastination 🥺) = hello Grab to Wisma Atria for my workshop at Sony Workshop! (Sidenote, I paid for it at $10!).

Surprisingly though, I ended up being the first one there just before the store officially opened!

Basically this is a succulent plant potting / marbling workshop combined with a hands on demonstration of using one of Sony’s new cameras, the ZV-1!

It’s kinda hilarious because I actually featured the ZV-1 in one of the new launches for the month on the SITEX blog and here I am, checking it out in person!

It was kinda cool doing this workshop and each of us had a turn choosing our colors and potting them accordingly before putting them into a nice enclosed carrier that Sony prepared for us!

Oh, and you can film each other too (we all paired up!) trying out the different functions and modes on the camera.

I went alone, but its cool as most of the participants for my session came alone (like me!), or came with a friend! Most came alone tho, so that was pretty interesting because everyone seemed to have their own reason for joining this workshop! 🤔

My friend who went for the other workshop timings told me most of the participants were couples instead so it really depends!

Next up, lunch and I decided to try RedRing Treasures (again) and tried their combo meal cos they were having a great promo at $6.80 (U.P $8)!

It’s not bad, getting a mix of tempura mushrooms, chicken cutlet, a tiny portion of veggies and of course their signature noodles!

Window shopping next at Tory Burch where I finally made my choice, Charles and Keith, La Sensa and a random supermarket just because 😂

I was meeting Angela later on so I thought of picking up some egg tarts for to try from Joy Luck Teahouse since she covered it previously in this SG Lifestyle article HERE!

Generally I don’t like to queue for food but thankfully the queue wasn’t as bad – around a 15-20 min wait just to get your hands on those famed egg tarts, and perhaps the boluo buns.

They have two types of egg tarts, the one with the biscuit crust and the other with the pastry skin (only the biscuit one was available).

Unfortunately, please don’t have any expectations because I was a little disappointed with what I had even though I tried then all fresh out of the oven.

The egg tart crust is okay, only if eaten fresh. Not too bad on the top but the base biscuit is rather meh. Meanwhile the egg custard is not very eggy, I don’t really like it. Tong Heng trumps all and I have still yet to find anything better.

For the pineapple boluo bun, I tried the butter version and wasn’t too impressed either. Rather meh and not worth the calories and price.

And then it’s time for our first WIP meetup with Angela for SG Lifestyle! Among other conversations of course 🙂

Found a new hidden find at Old Chang Kee Cafe at SingPost where it’s relatively quiet and peaceful for a good meeting place/chat!

Very very blessed and thankful 🙂

P.s if you’re interested to order them for Christmas or on normal days, they are available for pre-order in two sizes at $8.80 and $9.90 each respectively with some of the proceeds going towards charity! You can also drop me an email at ask.mitsueki@gmail.com as well!

Heh and my day didn’t end here cos it’s time to indulge in my favourite past time = my movies!

I watched two back to back movies in a row with Okay! Madam, a light-hearted Korean comedy.

3.95/5🌟
If you need a hilarious
cheer me up movie. LOL
(Korean). Just watch to be entertained. A good movie for first dates/friends/couples!

Next up, The Eight Hundred, a movie I have been looking forward to watch for awhile now.

It didn’t disappoint (:

4.3-4.4/5 🌟
Poignant. Real. Goosebumps. Cinematic. World War II. China v Japan. Fear. Death. Sacrifices. Bravery. Honour. Country’s pride. Victory. Loss. Very impactful meaningful movie. Rather violent movie btw. Alot of bloodshed. Highly highly HIGHLY recommended. It was very good.

Overall, a very happy day all in all to kickstart my weekend just right! 🙂

Hope y’all have a great weekend like me too!

P.s today’s numbers: 20 new, 5 imported, 1 community and 19 discharge cases.
