6/3 Chronicles of a Typical Office Lady in Singapore
Finally, the day I’ve been looking forward to for so long is here!
But first, the usual work in office and lucky for me – it was a half day affair. However, a jam packed one all the way with back to back (but very fruitful) meetings for all the projects under my care!
Loads to do and things are definitely ramping up at work. Fingers crossed I can keep up!
Bear dropped by my office place for a late lunch and we enjoyed a lovely meal of the newly launched yuzu chicken from Texas Chicken which I’ve been meaning to try for quite awhile now.
Best of all? There was a 1 for 1 deal coupled with 3% cashback from using the Shopback app which isn’t too shabby(:
P.s sign up HERE for $5 free cashback!
Went home after that to pack and do some work while waiting for Bear to knock off work and we were off to our highly anticipated (and super unexpected) first staycation together at Equarius Hotel over at Resorts World Sentosa!
This would actually mark my first time staying at a Resorts World Sentosa property; excluding that half day visit to Claire’s suite over at Crockford Towers and I was pretty excited!
It’s best to drive in to Equarius Hotel if possible, plus you get complimentary parking (one car ticket per night) for hotel guests. And boy, was the parking lot extremely spacious!
To get to the hotel lobby, you need to take the lift to Level 1 in order to check in.
The lobby is alright, pretty fancy and grand.
Checking in however, is a little slow so you need to be rather patient.
Also, if you don’t have an RWS Invites membership card yet – now would be the best time to register for your free card for all hotel guests when you do the check in!
Processing of the card was really fast and they actually slipped it under our door that night with an envelope consisting of our personalized RWS Invites card with our names on it; alongside a couple of vouchers that you can use.
Moving on, let’s proceed with the hotel room review and checking it out!(:
There are 8 levels to the hotel and ours was on the 5th level. The hall space is pretty spacious and there could be a walk to get to your room; depending on the location. Just note where is the nearest lift as there are 2 in the building!
Meanwhile, welcome to our room – the Equarius Hotel Deluxe Room! This is also touted to be one of the more spacious deluxe hotel rooms you can get in Singapore and I’m definitely not complaining here.
The “hallway” to the bedroom consists of the usual storage space for your luggage on the left; alongside with a large wardrobe with the necessities (safety deposit box/ironing board/hangers/ bedroom slippers/bathroom robes and an extra pillow) as well as the mini bar area with complimentary TWG tea, coffee, hot water flask, ice bucket and two sets of mugs and glasses respectively. There is also a mini fridge at the bottom with no freezer.
The room is so spacious that we have our own sitting area / living room where there’s a couch provided and table which faces the TV screen and study table located opposite (and pretty far away).
Not forgetting the plush king sized bed right smack in the middle of the room with a clear window view into the bathroom (blinds available that can be pulled down).
Oh and we also have a mini balcony of sorts and here’s the view during the night overlooking the cable cars and Adventure Cove 🙂
Finally, we have the bathroom! But first, a selfie at the full length mirror along the hallway :p
The bathroom is again, rather spacious! It comes with a vanity table (including another TV!), his and her bathroom sinks with separate amenities provided.
This bathroom also comes equipped with one of the largest bathtubs I’ve ever seen; able to fit two people seated side by side. Note that bath salts are available on request via housekeeping ya.
For those who don’t plan on using the bath, there are shower facilities with a choice of the shower wand verus overhead rainfall shower depending on your preference. Very nice conditioning shampoo and body wash is also provided by vitaminspa!
And of course, we have a separated toilet here with weirdly..a chair inside for unknown purposes. P.s there is no bidet provided!
That’s the end of the room tour and we ended it off with otah by the bed (lol) before hopping on to the 24 hour complimentary buggy service to bring us down to the main area of Resorts World Sentosa so that we could take the free monorail to Vivocity!
Note that there was no room service available hotelwide during this period so I suggest you stock up on snacks and food prior to coming to the hotel as Equarius Hotel is located pretty far off from the main area; or even any form of food other than the two restaurants available on site.
Water however, is readily available from the water dispensers at every level so that’s not a problem.
Dinner ended up to be Sarawak kolo mee from Jia Xiang Kolo Mee..which didn’t really satisfy Bear’s hunger too much.
So that became McDonald’s instead with a chicken burger for him and a McFlurry indulgence for myself.
At least we walked off some of the calories by taking the boardwalk trail from Vivocity back to Resorts World Sentosa so that wasn’t as sinful.
It’s a quite a romantic stroll really and we enjoyed it very much to end off our first day/night 🙂
That’s all for this post and thanks for reading! Meanwhile, stay tuned to tomorrow’s post to find out what Bear and I were up to during our 3D2N staycation at Equarius Hotel!
