Wew, did the weekend just fly or what?
At least the good news is that I still get to eat my yummy bread from Hiap Joo Bakery for brekkie!
P.s have you read my 1 day JB Day Trip travelogue yet? Read it HERE!
- Pre-CNY 1 Day Adventure to JB + Itinerary – 18 Jan 2020 #ABearyAdventure
I really have sinned too much over the last few months thanks to the festive period and such, so I made up my mind this day to at least drag my lazy butt to the gym for a workout.
And of course, with Bear in tow as well.
Perks of condo facilities = free gym!
Bear is more of a strength (?) muscle building/strength kinda person while I prefer cardio I.e. exercise bikes/treadmills etc cos you’ll sweat more but I guess somehow we work well together so that we don’t fight over the same machines.
I had my first go and the weights machine though, not my thing! But hor, it’s good to build up some muscles also la.
Next up – swimming time! Lol and we just kinda wore our swimwear under our gym clothes so strip = done!
New beauty products = body soap, shampoo and conditioner to try out this round.
And what’s for lunch?
A plethora of instant noodles which we bought from Bangkok, our chocolate Vitamilk and all our snacks.
What diet? And goodbye whatever calories that were lost earlier on 😂
Next up – off to pick up my parcel and head on over to Mynt for a brand new set of CNY nails!
Will probably take a break from doing my nails after CNY to let them rest up after that but we’ll see how that goes.
This time round, I was inspired by her original CNY nail art set but added my own twist/rendition of it by combining the best of both worlds (the cute rat + lucky pineapple) along with a nice pink base and plenty of glitter and bling – just the way I like.
Really happy with my overall results, relatively simple, cute and festive just in time for CNY!
Love my nails? They are done by Mynt from @yournailsloft – my blog’s official nail sponsor! Remember to quote “MITSUEKI” for $5 off during your visit!

Since we were around the Yishun vicinity (and Bear being his usual explorer self), we took this chance to walk around the heartlands of Yishun Mall and then onwards to Yishun Hawker Park for dinner.
There were quite a number of food stalls that caught our attention here including Shaker Lakers/Ah Tan Har Cheong Gai and a couple more.
In the end, we settled for the prawn paste chicken set to try out.
No regrets, their chicken wings were amazing!! You can skip the rice and egg and just get more chicken wings actually. Note that it’s a little salty so you might want to prep some drinks in advance!
Bear said it’s the best har cheong gai hes ever tasted so far, so ye. Feel free to drop us a recommendation if you know of any better:p
Meanwhile, our exploration took us to the following next.
Tampines Food Co
IKEA For hot dogs (But failed)
The usual wandering around GIANT hypermart.
It was pretty much a great way to spend my weekend together – first on our JB Day Trip on Saturday and this leisurely hangout on Sunday. Can’t wait for our next date/weekend! 😊
But first – 回家咯 and it’s back to the usual #chroniclesofatypicalofficeladyinsingapore series once again as we gear up for the CNY holiday coming up soon~
Most importantly, thanks always for reading and see ya tomorrow at 1228pm GMT+8!
