I recently caught the highly anticipated anime movie to hit our shores – Weathering with You, and here’s a multi-liner review (or should I say.. liner comments?!) which I kinda wrote while watching! Nonetheless, it may or may not be useful to you but eh, still sharing it because..why not?

- Isit me or the starting part feels like a girl who leapt through time or your very typical Ghibli anime?
- Reminds me of Japan especially when the main lead guy landed in Tokyo. The sounds are so familiar. Ah..I miss Japan.
- Staying cheap in Tokyo as a NEET/runaway. Staying in a Internet cafe cos it’s the cheapest, and a legit overnight budget stay place in Japan!
- Familiar sights of Shinjuku and district.
- Hello, Kitty (aka Rain!)!
- McDonald’s. Don don donkiii~
- Big Mac. Did Mcd sponsor this movie lol!
- Beer. Writing and KAMPAI!
*Cues cheerful slice of life Scenes - Illegal underground scenes aka touting for the schoolgirls for the illicit host club industry in Japan.
*Bang - 18-16. Is this a younger-older senpei love story waiting to happen?
- Slice of life. Japanese style. Maggi + potato chips and egg. Looks legit good leh
- Praying for sunshine. Japanese Weather doll aka teru teru bōzu!
- Tldr. Making money with the weather. Real business like 😂
- Everyone just wants a little sunshine in their life after all so gogo 100% sunshine girl!
- Beautiful beautiful graphics and animations. You gotta watch to know what I mean.
- Job: #sunshinegirl
- Job interview
- 3000 yen + company bills + lodging + rood..
- ISIT WILD RIVAL APPEARS? (Okay, apparently not).
- Tragic forewarning
- Getting all the help from Yahoo Japan online. It’s so Reddit I cannot 😂 (p.s isit sponsored ad?!)

- Snow in August. Yep, a real life possibility if you think about it cos of climate change.
- So this is how a 28k won hotel room is depicted as such in an anime!

- A single sacrifice for everyone’s happiness.
- Wait what. WHATTTTTT?! (When I found out about the age).
- Nagi. That Playboy hahhaaha. WTH so devious hahhahahah

- Is there still anything that love can do? Damn, that theme song is damn good.
- This portion reminds me so much of spirited away.

Let’s go home. - Wait. They’re 15 and 16. Damn, that’s too young actually.
- Omg RAIN 😺 HAHAHHAHA (the size difference is LOL) 😂
- Omg they didn’t even kiss. HAHHAAHA. I thought it would end off cheesy-y like but nope, it didn’t.
Final Thoughts
Surprisingly, I didn’t cry in this movie but I did bring tissues (a couple of my friends told me they teared!), though the soundtrack gives me the chills occasionally but otherwise, I still enjoyed it on an overall perspective 🙂
P.s here’s an unanswered question that I have from the movie – why did he run away from home in the first place?

Anime Type: Environmental/supernatural with slice of life and teen romantic elements
☑️ Amazing and rather realistic animation/graphics and portrayals, especially of Japan.
☑️ Awesome soundtrack.
Overall Rating: 7.25/10!
