[EUROPE 2015] Amsterdam – Day 3 (Part 2): Dam Square / Amsterdam Red Light District / Museum of Prostitution

Dumped our souvenirs back at our houseboat as seen above, and we were off to explore the rest of Amsterdam after our half day visit to Zaanse Schans.

Walking along Damrak

The plan was to walk along the Damrak and streets of Amsterdam as we made our way to Dam Square / The Dam. Passed by loads of interesting shops as seen below!

More souvenir shops!

A nutella cafe?!

HEMA!

FEBO!

Dam Square

And then finally, we reach Dam Square! Just soak in the atmosphere of the square and walk around to view the areas of interest including – The National Monument, Koninklijk Paleis (Royal Palace) and Nieuwe Kerk (New Church).

Kids having fun with the bubbles!

Or grab a hot dog like what Wx’s bro did!

Paparazzi shots by Wx’s mom as usual lol.

Decided to settle dinner at a random restaurant located at Dam Square instead of our original destination at Chinatown as we were pretty hungry!

No idea what was the restaurant’s name or recall exactly what we ate. It was pretty meh, forgettable.

Group shot after dinner!

Amsterdam Red Light District

It was dark by the time we ventured out of the restaurant. Perfect time to take a walk to De Wallen to take a peek at the activities at the famous Amsterdam Red Light District!

You know you are at the right place when you start spotting these live sex show places, naked girls prancing by the window and all the R21 activities. Photos are generally not allowed so I took them discreetly 😝😝

Museum of Prostitution

Since we were there, we visited Red Light Secrets, the museum of prostitution!

It was an interesting experience as you got to learn/see the behind the scenes of the Amsterdam red light district.

Including tips on how to become a successful prostitute 😂

The “bedrooms” samples of some prostitutes.

Kinky bondage stuff and more.

Both the Amsterdam red light district and the Museum of Prostitution are interesting places that you should add into your itinerary (assuming you have no children under 18/21!!). A unique experience that you definitely cannot find anywhere else in the world!(:

Walls Happy Swirl ice cream

Ended our day with a Walls Happy Swirl ice cream!

Headed back to our airbnb houseboat to pack up for the night as we were leaving Amsterdam on Day 4! Stay tuned for more posts coming up!(:
