After the Awana Skyway Gondola ride, we were in for a real treat at the legendary Burger & Lobster! YES, we are talking about the same UK-chain Burger and Lobster and it’s finally here in ASIA without having to travel long distance for it!
Burger & Lobster @ Genting Highlands Malaysia
Burger & Lobster specialises in premium 650-700g fresh lobsters from Nova Scotia, Canada, which are delivered weekly to the hilltop via KLIA. Due to the volumes the group buys on a weekly basis, they become very affordable and saleable.
Lobsters are steamed or grilled with clarified butter or the restaurant’s famed lemon and garlic butter. Served with chips and salad, the lobsters are available in three signature styles, namely The Original, The Big Boy and Chili Lobster.
We tried The Original and Chili Lobster and they sent me to heaven..Literally! The lobsters were so OMG fresh that I can’t even begin to describe it. All I could say is that the taste was UNFORGETTABLE for a lifetime and left me feeling sad because it became a craving that was stuck on me and I can’t have it in Singapore! GRRR.
Burger & Lobster – The Original
Look at this lobster from The Original. It paired so well with the lemon&butter garlic sauce that it came with. Matchmake in heaven.
Look at that large serving! I did feel like a King.
And here’s a close-up of the lobster meat so I can emphasize the quality of it – I know this pic will cause drooling because I AM already drooling while writing and reminiscing the taste at the same time. Damn it.
Burger & Lobster – The Chili Lobster
And this is The Chili Lobster – fresh lobster soaked in spicy sauce that reminds me of Singapore’s tasty chilli crab gravy. I would prefer this anytime because I am a fan of spicy food to begin with and the sauce really enhanced the taste of the already-delicious lobster.
I had to close my eyes and savor the taste while convincing myself that I am still on earth. HAHAHA, sounds exaggerating but I am not lying when I say this is the BEST lobster set I’ve ever eaten in my entire lifetime. I will definitely be back for more – even if it is to make that special trip down to eat this!
Burger & Lobster – Lobster Roll
Another of my favorite on the menu is the Lobster Roll, too – with lobster meat wrapped in soft bread.
Here’s a close-up of the roll – Who can resist this you tell me?!?! (Picture credits to the RWG team)
The meat had already been taken out of its shell and the seasoning + freshness of it simply took the cake. The texture of the bread isn’t too hard. In fact, it felt perfect as it completely complements the lobster meat. I have no idea what kind of crazy food invention is this, but I am going to highly recommend everyone to try it. All it takes for you is to try at least once in your lifetime and you will never forget the taste.
Burger & Lobster – The Burgers
Other than just lobsters, they offer premium quality burgers too. The burgers at Burger & Lobster are made purely with 100 percent Australian beef, with no fillers. The patties are served in a custom baked sesame seed brioche bun, and will be topped with beef bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, the restaurant’s own, in-house pickles, and Burger & Lobster’s secret sauce.
Unfortunately, I was unable to take beef hence I will not be reviewing its taste BUT those beef sure did look tasty!
Smaller eaters can preview the quality to come with bar bites such as the B&L Burger, a mini burger topped with lobster meat, Tiger Tiger (tempura prawns, spicy mayo and avocado in mini, buttered rolls) and The Classic which is a scaled down version of the original Burger & Lobster burger.
Burger & Lobster is located at Level 1, Sky Avenue. Operation hours is from 11 am to 10 pm daily (weekday) and from 11am to 11.30pm (weekend). For more information, please call 03-6101 1118 or visit www.rwgenting.com.
