One of my office temp staff had been raving over his favourite salted egg chicken stall at Sim Lim Square and it was on my bucket list to try for quite awhile.

Did a quick search and realized the stall name is called “Taste Good” located at Level 2 of Sim Lim Square.

Taste Good is actually a stall selling zichar and cai fan. It has a loyal following and the place was crowded during lunch time!

To order, you either have a choice of having their caifan option as below.

But of course we were there for their #1 bestseller – salted egg chicken with rice!

If I remember right – you have to place your order at the counter first before informing their staff that you’ve ordered and they will help you to get seats.

It took about 10 – 15 minutes before our food was served and all of us ordered the same salted egg chicken rice. You can add 50cents for an option of an egg on top but it’s not worth it as it was overly fried.

At first sight, the salted egg chicken looked remarkably good and you can see the curry leaves + chilli padi in each serving.

Taste wise, unfortunately it was nothing fantastic. I would give it an average rating at the best. Salted Egg sauce was okay but I’ve tasted better such as the one from my office. Egg was not freshly fried so it was already hardened and the rice was cold. Maybe I had high expectations as it was highly raved but it disappointed me 😯😯

Still, if I would return again to give it another chance but maybe I’ll try something else this time round!(:
