After a wonderful tea session at St Regis, we cabbed down to Goodman Arts Centre over at Mountbatten for the next item on our itinerary for the day – a bespoke perfume making workshop at Je T’aime Singapore!

Upon entering, your sense of smell will be heightened as the entire room is perfumed with a lovely fragrance!
Bridal Shower Party Games
As part of a bridal shower party, some mini games will be played. One of them is the ‘How well do you know the bride?’ quiz and both the bride and winner would get an extra 10ml of perfume!

Perfume Personality Quiz
In usual cases, you start off first by doing a perfume personality quiz! Take your time and answer the quiz as much as you can. It’s quite funny though when we checked out each other’s answers(:
With your quiz results, you will get to know abit more about your personality. In general, it’s quite accurate to be honest (except Jx’s case… even the trainer was surprised at her results!). Oh in case you were wondering, most Singaporeans are a combination of FLORAL / FRESH which is what I got lol.

Creating your own BESPOKE Perfume!
And now, onwards to the fun part – checking out the perfume oils available! We were able to make 3 perfume samples in total before selecting the final fragrance that we liked to be used in our main bottle or perfume!
With that said, this means we had to smell every single bottle of perfume oils to choose our favourite scents at the start. The more, the merrier! Each bottle is color coded as seen below, representing the 5 personalities of FLORAL / ORENTAL / WOODY / FRESH / CITRUS!
Note that for bridal showers like ours and smaller events, you will given a box of 40+ premixed perfumed oils.
For individual and couple workshops, there will be over 100+ perfumed oils! Now you know why each session will take at least 2 hours!
After sniffing over 40+ bottles each, we were done with our choices! It’s good to have a spread from all 5 personalities as you need to have at least 1 perfumed oils from each category.
Check us out being hard at work concocting our perfume samples! There is no urgency in creating your perfume, take as much time as you need(:
With your selected scents, it’s time for you to create your own signature scent! For the samples, you have to drop in a total of 60 drops based on your answer in the personality quiz. Don’t forget to record the number of droplets!
Here’s what 60 drops of fragrance oils should look like! Our lovely trainer would then mix it up with alcohol and let us have a whiff of our perfume!
Boy did it take us a long time coming up with 3 difference fragrances!
If you start losing your sense of smell, just head outside to get some fresh air before sniffing your perfume samples once again like what we did!
Once you are done with your final selection, it’s time for you to FINALLY recreate that same perfume! This is when your notes are useful as you recorded how many drops per fragrance you put into the 3 sample vials. You have to multiply it by 10 for the actual perfume bottle though. For example if you put in 6 drops of X oil in the sample, now you have to put in 60 drops! In total, we had to drop in 600 drops of oils!!
Seal your Perfume into a Crystal Perfume Bottle!
Once you are done, your perfume will be sealed and it’s done!
Behold your own bespoke signature perfume in this gorgeous Crystal bottle – apparently unbreakable even if you drop it!
Everyone gets to create and bring home their signature perfume! Don’t worry, you’ll get a bag to bring them home~
