SINGAPORE: Three people were injured after part of the first-floor ceiling at JEM shopping mall in Jurong East collapsed on Wednesday night. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it received a call about the incident at 10.14pm. It added that the injuries the three people sustained were minor.

According to the pictures and tweets, the ceiling collapsed outside Robinsons:

Taken from EDMW:

Oh my God! This looks REALLY bad. Basically according to The Straits Times – the first-floor ceiling of Jem mall collapsed due to a burst water pipe.

There is something seriously wrong with JEM ever since it opened. So let’s take a look at some of them:

  • Lack of fire permits delays Jem opening for 4 days
  • Car catches fire in JEM shopping mall carpark
  • Fire broke out at the FairPrice Xtra outlet
  • Fire at Watsons
  • Ceiling Collapse in front of Robinsons

Meanwhile, I highly doubt I will be going to JEM again any time soon at this rate.
