Introduction

Basically, if you have never heard of Sushi Express, well, it’s a sushi restaurant where all the sushi and food are priced at just S$1.50 PER PLATE!

Interior & Decor

Due to the affordable pricing, expect long queues over at Sushi Express – Citylink Mall and 313 Somerset which are really popular choices for most Singaporeans to have lunch or dinner at!(:

So that day, Crystal reached first and started to wait in line while the rest of us made our way there. As you can tell, the queue is (as mentioned above) – pretty long. But don’t worry too much as the queue moves relatively quickly due to the 1 hour time limit imposed on all customers.

Depending on your luck, you either get to sit in the booth seats (usually 4 pax and above) or you get to sit in front of the chefs preparing the sushi in front of you.

Regardless of where you are seated though, the conveyor belt with all the yummy sushi will be within reach(:

We were really lucky to get this seat next to the kitchen area because this means that we would get the first dibs of some varieties of sushi and other food! Hehe! XD

The Food & Drinks

Before I start off on the sushi, just to let you know that Sushi Express offers complimentary free flow of hot green tea(:

And now of course, moving on to the food there! Oh and don’t forget..all plates are priced at S$1.50!(:

Here’s a couple of photos of what we ate:

1. Mock Abalone

2. Sashimi

3. Corn Mayonnaise  Sushi

4. Salmon Roe Sushi

5. Slice of cold tamago (Japanese omelette)

6. Salmon Mayonnaise Sushi

7. Octopus Sushi

8. Seared Salmon Belly Sushi

9. Ebi Fry

10. Sashimi

11. My Favourite Sushi – Ebi Sushi! ^^

Other than sushi, they also have yummy desserts such as…

1. Vanilla Cream Puffs

2. Mango Pudding

3. Chocolate Fudge Cake

Other than the ones shown on my blog, there are so many other varieties of sushi available at Sushi Express – some that I didn’t take photos of, while they are a few which we didn’t manage to eat due to the time limit.

The Verdict

Overall though, even though we had a time limit of only 1 hour, we managed to polish off quite a number of plates (29 plates) as you can see below:

In total, we paid about S$51.00 for our whole meal which works out to be S$17.00 per person. Considering the amount of sushi (29 PLATES!) that we consumed – I think that that’s a really good deal! Plus I find the sushi there to be relatively fresh and to be honest.. it tastes way better than Sakae Sushi! -.-

I would definitely recommend you to eat at Sushi Express especially if you are one who loves to gorge on affordable sashimi, ebi, scallops, salmon and the like – just like Crystal, Sarah and I! Hehe. but the only downside is the 1 hour time limit so if you’re looking for a place to chill with your friends while eating – then I wouldn’t suggest you choose to eat at Sushi Express.

Regardless, I know I’ll be back there again when the craving for sushi hits me again!(:
