On a leisurely Saturday afternoon, the bf, Crystal and I headed down to Rochester Mall in order to redeem our deal coupon at Pies & Coffee to enjoy some pies, coffee and tea! Plus to catch up as Crystal and I haven’t met in awhile due to our conflicting schedules π

βββββββββββββββ-The ExteriorΒ βββββββββββββββ—-
It’s relatively easy to spot the location of Pies & Coffee over at Rochester Mall as you can see, and they have both indoor as well as an alfresco seating area.
It was full indoors, so we sat at the alfresco area instead but that was fine because it was sheltered, and surprisingly – really cooling even though there was no overhead fans!
There was a very relaxed atmosphere over at Pies & Coffee and everyone was just enjoying the day away. Oh, and they also allow dogs there too(:
There are even newspapers and magazines for you to browse through(:
Meanwhile, the interior is rather cosy but it didn’t have that same atmosphere as the alfresco area so all of us very much preferred sitting outside(:

The menu board can be found in the interior as seen.
For your viewing pleasure, you can find the basic menu of Pies & Coffee taken from their website here:
*Note that there are actually more pie choices available at the different outlets
What of course will attract your eyes while ordering will be the tantalizing array of pies at the counter, leaving you spoilt for choice! Also as mentioned, there are actually more pie choices available at the cafe when compared to the menu.
Other than the pies, they also have cakes and tarts available!
Along with muffins.
Quiche
As well as Japanese Ice Cream & Sorbet in assorted flavours!
βββββββββββββββ- Ordering ProcessΒ Β βββββββββββββββ-βββ
As mentioned, I had bought some deal coupons previously so we used them on site where we each had:
- 1 Pie + Mash Potato + Salad + Coffee/Tea + 1 Scoop of Ice Cream
Hehe, and we only paid S$8.90 each for the set deal! So keep a lookout to see if they do release this deal in the future(:
Do note that it’s all self service over at Pies & Coffee.
So if you want iced water, the dispenser is there for your needs while the rest of the cutlery and serviettes can be found at the side.
After ordering, you’ll be given a buzzer like this below and you just have to wait for it to buzz before heading to the counter to collect your food(:
βββββββββββββββ-The Food Β βββββββββββββββ-βββ
Our food came within less than 5 minutes and here’s what we had:
1. Chicken & Mushroom Pie – S$8.95
The bf had the chicken & mushroom pie as seen pictured below. He was really satisfied with his choice as the pie was stuffed with a generous portion of chicken and mushroom which just flowed out the moment he cut into the pie! It’s pretty hard to go wrong with a chicken and mushroom pie – but this will definitely have to be one of the better ones out there.
2. Mushroom Ragout Pie – S$8.95
Crystal on the other hand, selected the mushroom ragout pie. I know she wanted to try the duck confit pie, but I had mentioned that the mushroom ragout looked good – so thanks alot Crystal T_T~ Luckily, it wasn’t a bad choice because she liked it..ALOT!
According to her, she said that the mushroom ragout really complimented the delicious pie crust and she really enjoyed it. I also had a bite and I felt that the flavour of the mushrooms were really strong and there is this strong earthly taste which tasted really well with the pie as what Crystal said. Definitely the choice for mushroom fans out there!
3. Wagyu Beef Cheek – S$9.95
For myself, I had the Wagyu beef cheek pie which as usual, came with a generous portion of large chunks of wagyu beef cheek, onions and potatoes. I thought it was decent, but the standout part was definitely the crumbly pie crust which all of us liked. The mashed potato was fine and it came with the potato skin while I didn’t really dig the salad much.
4. Drinks – Coffee & Tea
Our set came with a choice of coffee or tea and Crystal opted for the coffee while the bf and I opted for a pot of tea each. Nothing special about the drinks as they’re pretty generic.
5. Chocolate Ice Cream
Ended off the meal with chocolate ice cream which was also came as part of the deal coupon.
βββββββββββββββ-The VerdictΒ βββββββββββββββ-βββ
Across the board, we felt that the portions were fine, our individual pies tasted great while we agreed that the pie crust (as mentioned) was the standout. On the whole, weΒ relished every bite and all our plates were practically empty with the exception ofΒ Β the bf and I as we didn’t really like the salad.Β Overall, we felt that the food was decent but what really makes this particular Pies & Coffee outlet so enjoyable and attractive to us is definitely the atmosphere, as we just spent the rest of the day relaxing over the pot of tea/coffee catching up on what was going on in our lives.
Well, there are a couple of Pies & Coffee outlets in Singapore at The Grandstand & Tanjong Katong other than this one at Rochester Mall so if you’re looking for a place to chill with your friends over coffee/tea and maybe a pie, you might want to check out Pies & Coffee(:
