Malaysians apparently broke through the Mcdonalds shutter at Prangin Mall in the bid to enter Mcdonalds to get the minion toys!
Meanwhile in Singapore, spotted on STOMP:

STOMPer Hector spotted people queuing up at a McDonald’s outlet this morning (Jul 18) at 10am, with the release of a new set of toys in the form of Despicable Me minions.

Right after the insane Hello Kitty craze..it seems like Singaporeans are going crazy over the Mcdonalds Happy Meal for the Despicable Me 2 minion toys that was just released like..today.
I don’t know about you, but even I have to admit that the minions from Despicable Me 1 & 2 are really endearing and adorable! Minions fever/madness anyone?
But I really like Dave the most because he’s like, one of the cutest. Hehe

So according to tweets and STOMP, it seemed like the queues for the first 3 sets of Despicable Me 2 minion toys during lunchtime were almost as insane as the hello kitty queues from last month with loads of places being sold out within hours! That’s crazy right – All these just for a Happy Meal toy?
But guess what? I was one of the crazies who bought the Happy Meal for the minions as well. LOL.
But, luckily I didn’t even have to queue at all for them when I dropped by Mcdonalds to get my Happy Meal. And OH I didn’t know that I had to buy 3 SETS of Happy Meal to get the set of 3 different minions so I had happily told them that I just wanted 1 Happy Meal. Then the Mcdonalds staff was like, okay, please choose between these 3 minions to take home then.
I was like whaaaa? I can’t just purchase all 3 toys in 1 meal? 🙁
So yes..in the end, I DID get 3 Happy Meals. All for the sake of the 3 minion toys =.=
And yes, I shared it with the bf when I headed over to his house so nope, didn’t waste any food!(: I know some Mcdonalds in Malaysia have like trolleys for people to leave their unwanted Happy Meal meals instead of dumping them away like what a number of people actually do. I don’t think Singapore has that implemented ;/
So anyway, these were the first three minions that were released this week:

3. Dave Gadget Grabber
Mm, to be honest, don’t be too critical of the quality of the Mcdonalds Despicable Me 2 minions toys as they are not really done very well like for instance, my Dave’s paint job was really badly done with paint smears here and there. But that’s okay for me(:
I went to sleep right after that, and when I woke up, I heard that the minions were like, sold out almost everywhere. Not sure if the sources are true anot. But luckily Mcdonalds has come up with a backup plan this time round:
So if you missed the opportunity to collect your favourite Happy Meal Despicable Me 2 toy, you can place an order at their deferred fulfillment online site at http://happymeal.mcdonalds.com.sg/ from 25 July 2013 – 7 August 2013.
Unfortunately, these toys will only be able to be redeemed in December 2013.
At this moment, I’m not too sure if I’m going to get the rest of the other minions in the next few weeks – I’ll just see then. What about you? Are you collecting them too?(:

I have the Stuart Light up Minion, but miss out first week of the minion, at least I still can order on 25 July , but probably to wait til 4 months I Guess, I pity the Malaysian people who queue up overnight unable to get their minion toy, didn’t expect minion is as popular as hello kitty in Singapore, I also collect hello kitty too and have a few including the Singing Bone which I queue overnight
hehe. i didnt manage to get any of the new minions this week, but that’s okay for me. not as crazy over them as for the hello kitty as they were cuter. luckily there’s a deferred fulfillment though – do they have it in MY i wonder? ;/
haha happen to browse around and saw ur blog. a lifesaver!!!! went buying some of the minions. will certainly display them with my lovely Chopper collection when I have the space in future.
