Teacher abuse my son part 2
According to a report in The Straits Times. the Ministry of Social and Family Development is investigating the alleged abuse case at the NTUC My First Skool childcare centre in Toa Payoh. The Straits Times understands that the three-year-old boy suffers from a fractured shin.
His parents have posted a picture of his injured leg, which was bandaged knee-down on Facebook. They added in a post: “When you discipline a child, it does not mean breaking his bone and torturing his mental state.” A facebook user, who appears to be the boy’s father, uploaded the footage online accompanied by this comment: “My wife still recovering from this incident. We hope to put this teacher from a childcare centre in Toa Payoh in jail.”
A spokesperson for My First Skool said they are co-operating fully with the police on the case of alleged child abuse. And the teacher involved has been suspended from all duties with immediate effect. The spokesperson said the safety and welfare of the children in their care is their top priority, and they take this responsibility very seriously.
She added: “Our main focus now is the child’s welfare and we will do all we can to assist the family on the care of the child during this period. The centre principal was with the child at all times during his visit to the doctors yesterday. The parents of the child has requested for a transfer to another centre in our network and we are doing all possible to manage this transition in the best interests of the child.”

Like me, were you shocked by the behavior of this teacher?! I mean no matter how naughty the child is, physical violence towards a child is NOT acceptable! I hope that the teacher will be severely dealt with!

what’s important is child’s welfare taken care of..luckily my first skool is helping..
so is emotionally abuse. My child is from Marvel kids world childcare center at Bedok reservoir.1 of teachers used degrading sentences like “get lost, I don’t want to see your face” she even use sarcastic suggestions like asking my son to change to another child care center. Who is she to say that? she’s not even the principle. When i questioned her, “she gave an excuse saying she’s very stressed up. Yes I understand the stress as a teacher but that doersn’t mean sher has to resort to use words that will bring down the child self esteem? Isn’t she suppose to be professionally trained as a teacher? Doesn’t she knows that its her job to be professional about it and not take things personally? esp towards an innocent n harmless child.
oh goodness..did you report this case? ;/ that’s really not acceptable behaviour and comments!
Hi Mel, would you like to share your experience with us? Let me know please, thank you!
Sad state of education in Singapore. A friend of mine recently mentioned that the west was looking to Singapore for its education prowess. I thought otherwise, and this is just the trip of the iceberg.
Hang her!! This poor boy has to live with his pain forever!
Mum n dad of this boy, my sympathy to you.
May justice be done!
HOW CAN THE SCHOOL SPOKESMAN SAY THAT SAFETY OF THE CHILDREN IS THEIR TOP PRIORITY CAUSE I SEE TEACHERS STANDING IN THE BACKGROUND NOT DOING ANYTHING TO HELP THE INNOCENT CHILD. Are the blind. They too don’t deserve to be teachers. Sack them too….
Too much strength used by the teacher.. But I would also appeal to everyone to put yourself into the shoes of a teacher of many children – – if one of them just refuses to sit and physically keeps on defying instructions……
What would you do?
What CAN you do?
u can’t keep following the kid around and asking him for the next 5 hours to sit down without touching him.
PARENTS pls discipline your own children at home properly so they know how to respect authority and listen to the teachers when they are in sch.
OMG! What kind of people are these?
