Man calls 84-year-old father stupid while bashing him

On March 21, Haidi Abdul Rahim (above), 40, bashed his father so viciously that the 84-year-old spent nine days in intensive care and two months in the hospital.

Haidi, who was sentenced to five years’ jail and nine strokes of the cane for the attack on Wednesday, told the court he had punished Mr Abdul Rahim Abdullah for urinating and defecating everywhere.

But the victim’s 36-year-old daughter, who wanted to be known as Miss Nana, said her father had urinated outside the bathroom only twice.

Her brother had called his father “stupid” and “perverted” as he stamped on him, she said.
