Cafe Hopping #1: Ice Cream Gallery Tanjong Katong

After our meal over at NG AH SIO Bak Kut Teh: 黄亚细肉骨茶, the bf and I hopped over to Ice Cream Gallery a couple of doors away as we were still not feeling very full, so we just needed a dessert. Plus LICK was too crowded at that point of time.

Ice Cream Gallery is really small ice cream cafe located at Tanjong Katong and as you can see, loads of big groups seems to enjoy eating here so it was a little cramped in my opinion.

But was it worth eating the ice cream here?(:
Read on to find out more!

You can even get a pint home if you’d like:

It was really really crowded that night and I was waiting for the group to finish ordering their ice cream first so I snapped a couple of photos around the place.

After waiting for like 15 minutes, I realized the queue was never ending, so I was like – heck it, I’m going to brave the crowd and order my ice cream!

Golly, just look at all that ice creammm! Yums! There were about 14 or 15 flavours available that day.

Including some unique local ice cream flavours such as Avocado Gula Melaka and many more including hot favourites such as D24 and Mao Shan Wang!

So here’s the Ice Cream Gallery’s menu board with the ice cream prices below and signature treat prices above ^
I thought the prices were really reasonable and I highly recommend that you get a double scoop or triple scoop to share! It’s really worthwhile!(:

Ice Cream & Sorbet
– Single Scoop: S$3.50
– Double Scoop: S$5.50
– Triple Scoop: S$7.00

This is what I ordered for the bf and I after I tasted some of the flavours. We prefer the traditional flavours so our choices were:

Triple Scoop – S$7.00
– French Vanilla
– Belgian Chocolate
– Mao Shan Wang Durian (Additional top up of S$1.40)
Total: S$8.40 (if I remember right)

Each scoop of ice cream is very generously given and the entire cup was totally full with the french vanilla and chocolate on the top and a huge mass of mao shan wang (king of durians!) ice cream at the base.

And here are more photos for your viewing pleasure!(:

The French Vanilla was my choice but I tried the bf’s Belgian Chocolate as well. Oh goodness, it was REALLY, REALLY heavenly! Somehow, I think the Belgian chocolate was better than the vanilla as it was really nice and chocolatey.

After devouring the French Vanilla and Belgian Chocolate..we finally reached the Mao Shan Wang ice cream at the base. GAHAHAHA! I had a choice between the D24 and Mao Shan Wang, but after tasting both – the flavour of the Mao Shan Wang really shone through as it was so strong! There were bits of real durian in the ice cream as well so it was really great for all durian lovers!

Yepp..all the ice cream was finished within minutes. YUMS!

Was super satisfied with the ice cream we had over at Ice Cream Gallery and I would highly recommend that you drop by for a visit or because it’s always crowded, it would be best to takeaway a pint (or two) of their ice cream to enjoy at home especially the Mao Shan Wang if you’re a durian lover like me(:
