Man slashed colleague to death at Kranji Loop over work feud
A 26-year-old man was arrested by Police for allegedly slashing a 35-year-old lorry driver to death due to a workplace feud at Kranji Loop on Monday (June 17). Police officers were informed of a fight at about 5.40pm that day and when they arrived at the scene, the 35-year-old man, Mr Zhua Ai Hua, was pronounced dead by paramedics, reports The New Paper.
The assistant, who wanted to resign after just two months at the company, is said to have voiced his displeasure to their boss after a recent spat with Mr Zhu, who was reportedly verbally abusive towards him. But co-workers said the boss did not do anything about it.
After this, he went back to the workers dormitory within the factory compound and headed towards Mr Zhu with a chopper. Mr Zhu was facing away from the assistant at that time, and was hacked on the right side of his neck, before being slashed all over his body.
A worker who tried to stop the fight, 37-year-old Wang Nanjing, had two of his fingers slashed and is receiving treatment in Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. The assailant is said to have prodded Mr Zhu’s body with the chopper after the attack to check if he is dead, before calmly washing himself and waiting for the cops to arrive.
