Amasoy Japanese Soy Pudding x Hokkaido Milk Series // Media Tasting Invite Part 1

I received a media tasting invitation last week for a tasting at DANRO Japanese Hot Pot and AmaSoy by Ministry of Food on 15 May 2013, Wednesday. Oh and in fact, I just attended the event tonight with my awesome plus one, Crystal and I’m just writing it right now.

Hehe, and it’s been awhile since I posted a proper food review/bite post anyway, so here you go!(:

>> Ps. because the blog post is too long, I decided to split it into 2 parts. This is PART 1! <<
*Part 2 will feature Danro Japanese Hot Pot Buffet*

During the media tasting event, we were introduced to AmaSoy: Japanese Soy Puddings & Hokkaido Milk Drinks.

AmaSoy: Tantalizing Japanese soy puddings and Hokkaido milk drinks made fresh daily, along with an exciting medley of flavours and toppings

So if you didn’t know, Amasoy is a relatively new brand, but yet it has been nominated as one of the top three favourite soy puddings by Singapore’s Favourite Foods 2013 panel! This comes as no surprise as the recipe for AmaSoy was created after countless experiements by a Japanese Chef to ensure the perfect balance of ultra smooth texture, delicate flavour and delicious taste!

AmaSoy also prides it’s Soy Puddings as:
– All Natural & Nutritious
– Trans Fat Free
– No Cholesterol
– Low fat Content
– Lactose Free
– No Preservatives & MSG Used
– No Coloring
– No Artificial Flavoring
– 100% Organic Soy Beans Used
– No Animal Gelatin Used
– Suitable for Ova-Lactose Vegetarians

Recently, it has been revamped to present many new changes including new flavours, new toppings, new packaging and best of all, now their soy puddings are enhanced with Collagen and Omega3 (DHA) – the first in Singapore!

Collagen – known for it’s beautifying properties
Omega 3 (DHA) – known for it’s health benefits such as boosting brain function, enhancing heart health and lowering triglycerides

We were the lucky few to try their new offerings (unlaunched at this time) which will be launched in the next two weeks. By the way, the revamp has been done in consultation with the wonderful Daniel Ang from DanielFoodDiary.com! Meanwhile, here’s a sneak preview of what’s coming to AmaSoy:

New and improved packaging!

New Flavours!

Crystal and I tried the Original (bottom) and Salted Caramel (top) as seen pictured below:

See how silky smooth the pudding is! And yes, I always have preferred Amasoy to Lao Ban (sorry Lao Ban fans!)

The original has always been my favourite (even before the revamp) and it did not disappoint. Would recommend if you prefer all the natural taste. The salted caramel will be an acquired taste, but it’s definitely interesting(:

We also tried the strawberry soy pudding:

Generous bits of fresh strawberries plus you can really taste the flavor of the strawberries in the soy pudding!

My personal favourite however is the mango soy pudding!

Look at the generous amounts of fresh mangos in the pudding! Tastes a little like mango pudding in my opinion. Yummy!

At the same time, we were also given the opportunity to try the new Hokkaido Milk Series. And here’s what I had:

Chocolate Hokkaido Milk with Hokkaido Milk Jelly

I’m not a big fan of milk of any kind (except chocolate milk, that’s why I chose that option) but I have to say that it was pretty yummy – and seriously, not bad. Well, no surprise here again considering that it is made with premium milk from Hokkaido thus resulting in a refreshing thirst quencher drink that is smooth and delicate, complete with a silky creamy taste. Plus the hokkaido milk jelly inside made the drink tastier~

It was also my first time trying this drink out as the usual AmaSoy outlet that I frequent at Tampines only sell the soy puddings. Worth a try I would say!(:
