Two Singaporeans died and one is still missing after the boat they were in collided with a fishing trawler off Pulau Layak in Pahang, Malaysia, on Sunday afternoon.
Here is a statement from a MFA spokesman: “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) is aware of the boat accident involving Singaporeans off Pulau Layak in Pahang, Malaysia yesterday.
There were 8 Singaporeans on board the boat : 2 have passed away, 5 are injured and are receiving medical attention, and 1 is reported missing. MFA is providing consular assistance to the Singaporeans and their families.

They are also in touch with the Malaysian authorities on the search-and-rescue efforts for the missing Singaporean.”
Yet another tragic accident on the news this Monday just like the accident I posted about this morning: S’pore newly-weds killed in Malaysia highway crash. Again, the details are sketchy but , I really hope that the missing person is found soon safe and sound and the other 5 injured passengers will pull through.
Once again, my condolences to the loss of the 3 more Singaporean lives… Chen Wan Seng, Raymond Cheng Yuen Chi and Ng Eng Hua
